44 Positive User Reviews for Juno – Python and Jupyter
Every time I run grid search, it’s infinitely loading, it won’t run the result below the code “import from sklearn.model_selection import GridSearchCV”. And the app will crash!
I miss the repl in the abandoned Pythonista, so for my needs, Juno, which does not include a repl, is mixed bag. Excellent for Jupiter on iOS.
It’s stable and easy to use and definitely the best python app in the store after using many. I hope the team can keep up the good work and continue to support the app as they have been. The price is also reasonable as it significantly expands the functionality of iPad for me. I wish more packages can be added, for example pymc, pytorch…
Really good tool for my need
Don't let 4 stars fool you... This is by far the best Python ide available on the AppStore. Period. Completely worth the asking price. I have exactly ZERO regrets. My only complaints are minor at best and don't even belong here because the app functions perfectly fine as is. I just have quality of life wishes that would take it to a 5 star for me. You really need a dedicated community, an official forum, discord group, something for issues, bugs and suggestions.. I bet it would take off in a hur
A sleek and elegant Jupyter client, and the best scientific notebook environment on iPad. Please add a way to collapse code cells while still showing the output and text cells. Sometimes one wants to just read a document without all the code in the way, and only expand code if needed.
I'm surprised everything is just useful, no exceptions. Idk why other editors don't have colon and underscore come up automatically on the keyboard, even ones specifically made for Python.
I use Juno on my phone to keep working on data analysis concepts and testing code while I am away from my computer, and as it integrates through files to DropBox it is then simply a matter of opening the notebook in Anaconda on the computer, and everything works. I use a couple of packages that ate not Python native, or haven’t been translated yet, but that is only a very minor issue.
So far this has been a very handy app. I can code up ideas while traveling. So far I have been working with the original autograd since Jax and Pytorch do not seem to be supported yet. I may be wrong, but either way this app has been useful for my needs.
I use this app as a note taking software, I'm not a programming student, but I use markdown formatting! This software is probably the best I've ever bought!
Works super well
This Application seems to be powerful, but things to be strange for I cannot run command `pip install streamlit`. Moreover , the requirement package of streamlit, `pyarrow` is not support on Juno for all the versions
I love the app it comes with everything you need to work with python on a Normal case. But I really wish there was one thing that could be implemented, and that would be pygame, if the pygame package was able to be installed this app I feel would be even more of perfect app. If any developers find this I would like to know if this is possible, and if so how or when could it be implemented…
I think the best (maybe only good app) to run python on ios
I normally don’t invest in many paid apps, but the developer did a bang up job on this. This and another app called Pythonista are my favorite go to apps for doing python and data science. I actually took a course on Machine Learning and Data science on Udemy and used Juno on my IPad Pro 12.9 for the entire course , worked like a charm. I just wish that there was a version for Android 😀😀😀 Keep up the good work 👍🏿
An invaluable tool to allow the portability of learning, practicing, and implementation of python. Thank you
Cleanest user experience I've had in an iPados code editor, possibly besides Swift Playgrounds. Many iPados developers could learn from Juno what an IDE on this platform could look like.
I started using this app to make my online learning more mobile but its actually a bit frustrating how much it crashes on iPhone 12 Pro and on ipad mini. No problems in desktop Jupyter. 3stars cause the other stuff works well. Thank you
Sometimes deletes all my work after not saving
I love Juno! I use it to write python code in my iPad mini, and the enhancements in 2.0 are extremely helpful and make the tool more robust, especially the working directory feature and the new text editor. IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU COULD ADD CELL COLLAPSING (to hide code). That is a must for writing code on an iOS device, as without it is difficult to keep track of things when writing long, complex programs. But again, very grateful for 2.0. Keep up the awesome work!
Rolled the dice even though I couldn’t find a list of supported packages from PyPi. BioPython doesn’t work. “Package installer requires features not available on iOS.” :/
Very nice app overall, which I found trying to move off the also great Pythonista, which appears to be abandoned. Obviously these apps have different goals, but most of what I used Pythonista for might always have been better as a notebook. However, one feature that seems to be missing, and makes Juno less convenient, is the ability to deep link to open and run a specific notebook. With Pythonista, I use those links with Shortcuts to make Home Screen icons for scripts I need quick access too,
I have the exactly the same problems with other reviewers on tensorflow. As iPad should have enough compute power for some machine learning, I thought it would be cool that I can test out the structure on iPad and then apply somewhere else. This software can’t do that.
This works for my purposes of being able to code on an iPad using Jupyter notebook. One question I have is how to change the comment font color?
Where is the documentation want to see how to debug with breakpoints
Juno is an extremely useful tool to have on iOS, though it needs more work. It sometimes crashes when I reopen it. And it sometimes fails to find a spreadsheet to load, forcing me to Run All Cells again, at which point the sheet loads successfully.
I love using this. I really do. I can’t do the heavy lifting with large files on it but 90% of the light stuff I can on my iPad at the office with great joy. Thank you guys!
The app crashes frequently in split screen mode. Otherwise, it is great for working with jupyter notebooks on the go. Just save your work frequently.
How can I use tensorflow (PyTorch) using Juno?
Great implementation, the interface is thoughtful, simple, and elegant, just like Jupyter! I’ve had no crashes and there’s a good number of well respected libraries, plus you can load others provided they’re pure Python. Nice!
Probably the best $20 I’ve spent in the app store. Now I can work outside without a laptop.
I would like you guys to add OpenCV libraries/frameworks, Tensorflow library/frameworks, Pytorch library/frameworks, and more in the coming future.
It’s like jupyter notebook for your iOS devices. It’s terrific!
I wish we could install packages that are not python pure (e.g. astropy)
Works great, huge convenience to run locally. Would like to have access to larger set of libraries so hope that is coming soon.
Scipy Scikit-learn Scikit-image Pillow .... many other packages are unsupported.
Having access to Jupyter notebooks from an IpadPro is a fantastic productivity advance. I think the developer is on the right track and the app feels great!. Keep those updates coming...please!
Having python and a markdown editor in your pocket is something that has been long overdue for the iPhone. Keep up the great work, this app is quite impressive.
The only issue I’ve encountered thus far is that ‘assert’ statements don’t do anything at all, and I really rely on them in certain cases.
And I don’t know much about coding lol
This is a great Jupyter client for iOS. The only thing I wish it did would be to advance to the next cell automatically once the current cell is run.
I love this app, great to see it on the app store. I do hope to see theming support at some point - I would love to customize syntax and interface beyond just light/dark. Great app, works well, kudos.
A really solid Jupyter implementation.
1 Negative User Reviews for Juno – Python and Jupyter
Does not have support for Tensorflow package, cannot be used for my use case.
