23 Positive User Reviews for Kanji Book

Kanji made fun and cute!

I just started and already know about 300+ kanji going in. I love how it is self paced, no timers, you can revisit cards as often as you like (with cute incentives), and the program shows you the stroke order! My favorite little surprise was the compound words game where you can build your vocabulary and discover just how practical a pictographic text can be (no furigana given, but I have my jisho for that). I would have liked audio, but if you know your hiragana going into using this app, you a

Feature request…

I love how straightforward this app is…but s couple more features would take it to another level: 1) Regarding the stroke hints, if a kanji has a radical that’s been previously taught, give that radical/kanji as a hint. Even native Japanese speakers learn kanji based on component radicals. 2) The ability to edit my list and add kanji learned outside the app. I’ve learned so many new kanji since starting to use this app and it’d be cool to see that reflected.

Can you please add this feature

It is amazing but I think you should add the pronunciation of each kanji along with how to write it.

Feature Request

I'm very glad that I found something without it charging for money. I have a mere complaint though. I wish that I could review and do tests for specific kanji characters instead of it being randomized for me. I have some trouble with memorizing readings for certain kanji.

Super efficient!

This has helped me so much and has given me a lot of motivation! I really recommend it if you want a fast and efficient way of learning kanji!

Almost there

Very good app for learning kanji. Self paced, graphics, learning tracking are all very good!! Two areas could use some help tho 1. The name of each kanji should be provided Even pressing more info, jisho, doesn’t provide the kanji names. 2. Kun and Om pronunciations are hard to read in the handwriting script a lot of times. Making it much plainer would be a significant help also.

Best app for Kanji!! But I have a small request

I love this app, it is very good and provides stroke order, great simple tests, and has both on’yomi and kun’yomi written in hiragana(good practice)!! Nothing negative about this app. My only suggestion is that for compounds, we can have a way to see how to pronounce them. Trying to figure out to use on’yomi or kun’yomi is difficult since there are many exceptions to the general rule. Thank you for this great app, and for making it free! If there is anyway to donate and/or support it in anyway

Great, engaging, educational!

Super fun, clear, simple, and you can learn at your own pace. A few small things I don’t like: no choice between kun or on, no audio pronounciation, and no information on radicals. But very enjoyable.

Great tool!

A great tool for beginners!!

This may be perfect!

Forgive me for the unprofessional review, but this may be the best kanji learning app(for me personally)! No ads, I can practice writing, teaches the Kun and On, the meaning of the kanji, and the cherry on top is I can test myself! Whoever helped develop this, thank you for making kanji easier to learn!

Amazing

This app is so well made I love it so much!!! I can repeat as many times as I want and it makes learning kanji really simple!

day 1 and i already like it!

i’m still learning japanese. my memory span only captured a few kanji…vaguely. i can recognize all hiragana and kana but kanji hurts my soul. this app helps a lot with polishing my strokes and memorizing the right stroke order. thank you for this

Missing an important and useful feature

When I first opened the app it allowed me to select from a large list the Kanji that I had learned before downloading this app, and to add them to my notebook. Unfortunately, if I continue to learn new Kanji from other sources going forward and want to selectively add those to my notebook as well, I don’t seem to be able to access that master list again to do it. This would be a really helpful feature so I could have one list of my learned Kanji from all sources and I could then occasionally rev

Kanji App

I rate this a 100/10 because this app is free, yet it’s so interactive and perfect for all levels of Japanese learners. The only downside for me is that there isn’t any grammar lessons, but there’s always room for improvement. Thank you for whoever developed this app and keep going with this project, I love it.

Great

This app actually let me have time to practice each character and isn’t hard I really like it, my fav kanji app so far

Best app for learning kanji!

I’m beyond grateful for this resource. It’s been helping me to remember kanji, and also to write it.

Helpful!

This is another helpful aid in learning kanji. I particularly like drawing the kanji!

Amazing App

It’s a must have app. Its only downside is it doesn’t have drawing only test.

Fantastic!

Great for learning and practicing Kanji! 5/5 would recommend to any fans and students of the Japanese written language.

Surprisingly fun

Satisfying and fun way to learn kanji.

Fun Way to Learn

I like that the test is done in a variety of styles. The length of the test is perfect for idle moments during the day. I like having the ability to add new Kanji when I’m ready.

One of the best kanji learning app

It’s simple, it’s fun, it just works and it’s free! Highly recommended to everyone studying japanese

love design and UX

love the look of this app—it’s so different from all its competitors but it’s really not helpful that the app doesn’t teach pronunciation by way of audio or even just hiragana. so while it’s super useful for visual memorization it’s really not for speaking. and if it is that this options is available, then it wasn’t obvious to me and could then use some improvement!
