KCCI 8 News - Des Moines App Reviews

Every time I try to use it or going to a story, the app resets itself to the original homepage then I have to go back and find the article and go back into it and sometimes it’ll reset itself again. It’s really very annoying.

KCcI has the best coverage of not only the news of Iowa but also presents the stories of Iowans and what makes this state so special

I agree on the radar app. It takes to long to see which way the weather is moving. It backs up to many hours. You need to speed up the radar loop. I see you haven’t done that yet. Perhaps you could explain why it backs up so many hours or why you have made that decision.

I am always happy to wake up and get the latest news from Chanel 8 new station ! I listen to them on my phone app every morning while getting ready for work then when I’m eating supper! The daily updates on what’s going on it great as well! Thank you for providing us with accurate information! Love Jason’s weather report and of course the yellow crocks !

Tired of waiting for the pop up ads to go away so you can read the news. Detracts from your purpose of presenting the news.

WhenEVER I open the app there is a commercial set to play without a mute option. It is highly inconvenient at times to have noise coming from my phone, for example, when I’m checking news in bed when my husband is asleep. This seems an easy fix. Thanks.

Love having the news at my fingertips!!

This app used to be stable and responsive. It has developed a mind of its own and frequently hangs and jumps out of current page, I suspect while loading ads. Support has been non-responsive. This happens across multiple devices.

I enjoy most of what the app has to offer but something seems to have happened with the latest update. I can’t seem to make it more than 10 seconds before the page resets or glitches and it takes me right back to the home page. I’ll click on a story and get half of a sentence in and it glitches and I have to find the article all over again. This will happen 3 - 4 times each time I try and use it. It never used to do this

Every time I click a notification from KCCI or click a link from elsewhere on the web that should lead me to a KCCI news story, it does, but closes out the news story after 10 seconds. Sometimes I can’t even find it again after it closes. Also, the ‘report a bug’ button doesn’t work. I have the most updated version of the app as of today.

Be aware that this app is 2.5 minutes behind what is on television. If you solely rely on this app, the tornado is already at your front door.

The amount of advertising that pops up when trying to read a news story is atrocious. There are so many that the news articles get covered up by them and you cannot read the news story at all. I do not want to watch the video, I want to read!

I have it set up to alert me when inclement weather is about to start. It’ll be raining for over an hour and I’ll get an alert “brief rain showers starting in 15 minutes” lol

It seems to me the media has forgotten that half of this country’s population is conservative.

News article stop after one or two lines. Have to use a web browser to actually read the entire articles.

I like KCCI, but if you want to read their articles or watch their videos, just stick to the website. While trying to read 3 articles, I had to force close the app nearly 10 times! It would just stop responding. Sometimes the article would partially load but be completely unresponsive, sometimes it’d just show a blank page with an unresponsive back button.
