KCRG-TV9 First Alert Weather App Reviews

I love this app so much! It is a lot more accurate than the weather app Apple gives us. This app is always my go to when I need to check the weather, or when a storm comes. The Apple weather app is a lot less accurate than KCRG-TV9 app. I highly recommend getting this app if you are interested in getting a new weather app.

For the last month now the radar doesn’t work. There was an update 6 days ago but it still isn’t working right. Half way through the radar timing the radar image freezes and quits moving while the timing keeps going.

I love this app overall, but I especially love that the humidity is at the top of the screen under the temperature. In other weather apps, I have to scroll and search for this vital information.

If my phone screen shuts off there’s no reason I should have to wait the 30-60 seconds for the app to refresh. The weather hasn’t changed that much in 5 minutes. Need to spend more time working on the app than trying to come up with “witty” notification messages

Great for weather updates

I use the radar frequently but lately it doesn’t seem to refresh or it’s frozen in a past state. Won’t allow me to click on past or future. I have to delete app and reload 😫

While I understand that ads are necessary, when there is severe weather afoot, the ads just block pertinent and important information. Furthermore, the app itself runs sluggishly. Going to the website is much better during severe weather where updates need to happen unimpeded by ads and slow speeds.

I use this app for its accuracy

Been watching channel 9 for 58 plus years. Minus two years I spent living in Texas. I trust and enjoy hearing about my hometown of Cedar Rapids Iowa no matter where I go it will always be my home for news and best coverage of Eastern Iowa news and weather.

Everything about the app is nicer, smoother, and faster than any of the other apps I’ve tried (AccuWeather, Apple’s weather app, and The Weather Channel)

I get it, ads make money and they’re everywhere now. However it’s rather frustrating to be forced to watch a 30 second ad before a 15 second video clip. At this point, all I ask is that the ads to be proportionate to the length of the video (like a 5 second ad for a 15 second video). I used to use this app all the time but I’m getting pretty tired of watching more ad than weather update.

Inundated with LOTS of ads despite strict settings. My alerts are set to notify me for severe events only, yet, I get swamped multiple times a day with casual weather updates.

While your app can provide good information, it is slowed and cluttered with ads for virtually anything. It is impossible to quickly see vital weather information because the user must first navigate through an obituary advertisement which cannot be bypassed. After getting by the initial advertisement, the screen is cluttered by even more of the annoying ads. If your station is not able (or financially secure enough) to provide an app that contains more wearger information than ads, please remov

To much off everything that I don’t care about. All I want to see is the radar

This add has been awesome - very helpful, but the last update that was done today on it cause the app to whack out - I’m seeing more adds & other things that shouldn’t be in this app. On top of that the app isn’t displaying temperatures correctly on the 9-12 day forecast. Please fix.
