I don’t know what’s going on, but recording tours has become haphazard at best. Now, when out walking trails, I check to see the time, miles, etc, controls, and it shows a red dot, asks about starting a new tour, and I can’t directly see results of current route I’ve hiked. I end up having to muddle through pages and finally reach one where it asks if I want to restart recording. Ah, YES! I didn’t want you to stop. Until this started I raved about this app to everyone. Now, until this link
It’s ok, it didn’t find any new exciting routes near me. I created a route which it labeled as easy and I faced two 15%+ grade climbs, not what I was expecting. I’ll keep trying but no better than other options I already have.
I’ve just started with Komoot and like it generally. I just want to register one complaint. The route planner glitches when you try to create a loop or a figure 8.
You can add waypoints along the route however you cannot assign icons or notes to the waypoints. They very quickly become pointless dots on a multi day tour. Would also be nice to add places that are off route but can stop at in case you need something, like a bike shop, grocery store, hospital. This could be life saving when you’re operating on offline mode and do not have service.
Got the app to plan a route from Boston to ptown. It began by sending me on the ferry. I searched the route planner for transit options to see if I could exclude ferries, didn’t do as any. Had to add waypoints, but after every single one it still sent me to a ferry. After adding a third way point, instead of connecting the second to the third, it sent me on a ferry from the second to ptown, and then routes from ptown to the 3rd way point. This is some crap design.
App fantástica fenomenal
The navigation works great. I have been very happy with the app, however the “easy” hikes are not so easy, if those are easy I would not want to see hard. Don’t close the app while you are using it or it starts over and gets confusing.
No puedo compartir mi ruta de Komoot a mi reloj Polar, veo en Suunto y Garmin es más sencillo pero prefiero Polar y ocupo me ayuden por favor
Great app but I ended up having to ditch it for 2 reasons: 1) can’t use your Apple Watch independently. This feature is “in the works” but it could be a while. Because of this, I have to take both my Apple Watch and iPhone, which is redundant and heavy. 2) you can’t use voice navigation alone to navigate routes. Half a dozen times I’ve been told to take a left 50 feet from the turn on a 3 Lane Highway. That’s very dangerous and frustrating. They could fix this with giving directions farther in a
Can you please add XC Skiing and Snowshoeing to your list of outdoor activities. Really love your app.
We really like the app, but are really missing family related features. It would be great to be able to create a family/group with automatic tracking of people during a group hike. It would be also great if there would be a family subscription since only a few will be able to afford a subscription of four or more people in one family.
The reason why I won’t give this a 5 star is because the planning part of the app is not good for when you have the destination at the start. When I add a point to include on route and when the point gets closer to a section already highlighted it marks itself from that section which is not what I want. It only works when the destination is away from the start.
These have to be fake reviews. I tried to make a route from my location to a local store in my city and when I search the closest store I always 90 miles away seemingly in a random direction. Shouldn’t it find the closest one to my location. Also the navigation could use some work. But it does have a lot of potential.
Best trail app ever Great for biking and hiking Have used all over the globe and excellent everywhere
I had been using Strava for several years when I stumbled onto Kamoot. It has all the advantages I relied on with the addition of voice turn by turn directions on planned routes. Very nice feature. The only negative is that I can’t seem to figure out how to plan a round trip route. The app will not allow you to set the starting point and end point as the same place while setting several way points in between.
No integrations with Strava or Wahoo or any other most popular apps. doesn’t this person or developer watch GCN? please update.
I like it! The App told me to rate it!
Going on a long distance walk in England and needed a planned route for the walk. Found one on Komoot that fits the bill.
Apple Watch app keeps disconnecting
Directions and performance metrics, though there are a bunch of trails that are marked as cycling prohibited when it's not.
Please fix the bug where it forgets your route 30 seconds after you start it. The app is unusable right now and messing up my tour
This app is garbage. Do not waste your time or money. Every time I use it, it causes me to get lost and screws up my ride. The worst part about it is that if you stop moving, it stops tracking and then stops your route. When you start moving again the route is gone and you have to start it over. However it then starts from wherever you are which means you have lost your trail of bread crumbs from where you started. Total junk. Then to make it even worse, the app kills a fully charged iPhone 15 p
Sometimes it stops tracking your ride. Annoying
It'll get you out ... somewhere. Anytime and I mean anytime I start a route on my iPhone it immediately stops tracking as soon as the screen shuts off. So to keep the navigation going the screen has to be on. Which kills the phone. I wouldn't recommend this app.
