Great for seeing the city

A fantastic app for exploring NYC -- the best I've found for those interested in the city's history and architecture. It was great even before the latest update, providing a informative summaries -- and map of -- architectural landmarks and easy way of locating those near one's current location. The update makes it even better, integrating Google Street view images. Would love to see the developer create similar apps for Chicago, Boston, DC and other cities.

Whether you're just visiting or a resident of NYC, this is a must-have app for your iPhone or iPad. An in-depth history about a vast array of NYC's most iconic (and even the unheralded) buildings makes this app a truly useful guide and tool.

If you are into history, architecture and the unique building styles of New York city, this is the app to have! I wish they had an iPad version and wish that it worked in both portrait and landscape modes.

If you are even remotely interested in NYC architecture, or history in general, this app is a must-have. Fluid user interface, excellent mini articles written about each building, complete with links to the official Landmark documents, and Google-linked up-to-date street-view adjustable images. Hundreds of NYC landmarks, and hundreds of stories!

Great landmarks app, supports iPhone and iPad both well. Feature requests: Wikipedia links, and a way to “check off” already-visited landmarks.

I’m an architect and I’m loving walking around NYC looking up and learning the history of these great buildings as I stumble across them!

This is a neat app if you’re one of those people who walk around NYC and wonder about the history of the various buildings you see. Map function hones in on where you are, building photos make it easy to identify buildings. However, the info and narratives are a bit dated. In some cases I’ve found facts that are not accurate and have not been for over a decade.

This app only includes Manhattan Landmarks and it needs more search options. It also puts the Manhattan Bridge arch at Bridge & Broadway in the Financial District, it is on Canal street. - way off.
