Language Translator by Mate App Reviews

Mate is astounding in its simplicity, intuitive user ‘rules’ and easy graphics. I have tried many other translation apps, and they varied from Okay to Bad. But MATE is quick, easy, helpful, and uncomplicated. Its audio pronunciations are clear and accurate. Best of all, it’s free for iPhone/Mac when downloaded from App Store! It’s still early days, but I think MATE is a keeper.

I’ve been using Mate for years and it aids in my language development. Of course, sometimes the translations are literal, but they are always 100% correct.

When selecting text in safari to translate on iOS 16, I have to manually select which language it is every single time in order for the translation to load. Please enable the ability for the app to do it ok it’s own without having to select which language is to be translated within safari. Other than that works great!

…until this bug is fixed, it’s pretty useless, as nice as it’s otherwise, because the main purpose I got this was web page translation, not interactive use

Forget Google translate. Get Mate and see the difference. It’s like having a universal language translator. Way to go Mate. You are brilliant

Mate has been my go-to translator app! It is the most accurate I have encountered and I highly recommend it!

I have had this app long time and ignored it because of my schedule. The addition of Tokens 2 has renewed my interest. I am going to explore it thoroughly. Thank you.

Great, very usefully and perfect. I love it. It also can learning more language.

I tried translating some words in East Asian languages to English and the pop up window in the extension didn’t translate them at all.

I don’t know why the translation apps support Spanish from Spain and not Latin American Spanish. LATAM Spanish is 3 to 4 times more prevalent. In fact, Mexico alone has more LATAM Spanish speakers than any other version. There is a difference.

took quite awhile to figure out how to get it to work in safari, and then it still didn’t work. First ran into an issue where it thought I didn’t subscribe, then ran into an issue where it couldn’t figure out what language to translate into, and then ran into an issue where it won’t translate a website but will just keep on showing the loading animation Finally just highlighted the text and translated it that way
