45 Positive User Reviews for Libby, the library app
I have read so many books bc of this app. Love it!!!!
An app that is worth getting, such a big selection of books audio and others for free.
I so appreciate being able to borrow virtually. To have my books on a reader to carry with me and access anytime I like anywhere I like is such a pleasure This app has saved me hundreds of dollars a year.
A must escape to added life meaning!
I listen to books while driving, gardening and doing homework. The selection is varied and there’s always something good available. My only request would be to have books in a series listed together or noted which series they belong to.
It’s a 6 hour drive each way to visit my children and grandchildren. I used to try hard not to fall asleep after the first 50 miles. Now, I plan a good book to listen to and it makes all the difference! Plus, needless to say, it’s much safer.
As a student, Libby has saved me a considerable amount of time, money and from frustration. I particularly enjoy being able to search for a title and see the availability of all my saved Libraries without searching individually. Thank you!!!
Love this app. It is great for getting books. However the app glitches every once in a while and can be slow. Also book access is limited based on library size. But other than that I love this app and use it all the time and recommend 100%
While I still love my brick and mortar library and dead tree books, I have to admit that I love the portability and ease of checking out ebooks and audiobooks on Libby. The selection is excellent if lacking some of the earlier books in a series.
Great easy read
I am an avid reader, book lover, library advocate and library board member. I love and recommend Libby! I’m currently organizing a book club and Libby will be the preferred app. Thanks to the developers and staff, Libby is definitely an easy to use winner!
I love this app because it has thousands of books to read.but for fixers I think you should add a check list or scrap page for how many books you have read.other than that the app is great and I think everyone should use it
Nice streamlined way to get tons of books very easily. Would definitely recommend to any readers.
I use this app almost every day, and I have no complaints.
It’s a great app for kids and adults if you don’t have time to read to your kids they can just click juvenile in the category
Great book suggest for all especially teens.
I would be better if you could borrow for longer and that you have a notify when ready tag
This app is great! It works well. Have been using it for 5 months and listened to 7 books and read 2 books. I switch back and forth from my iPhone to my iPad and it syncs up nicely. The listening to a book in high speed is great too. I’m able to listen at 2x speed now. I had to slowly get used to increasing the speed. I started with a book that was 28 hrs and the first 10 hours I listened to at regular speed. From hours 10 to 12 I increase the speed to 1.25x and every couple of hours I increased
This is such a valuable resource for avid readers who for some reason can’t get to a library or bookstore. I personally am recovering from major surgery and this has been a great way to keep from being so bored and depressed.
I like using this app but there is times when this app just crash and I lose every holds and book history. I would have resign in , thank heaven I know where my library card is to sign back. The books free and I like that better then paying $20.00 a month for Audible 😀
I like to read on my iPad and phone. Libby makes acquiring books easy and fast. Books are synced among my devices. With Libby on my phone, I find myself reading where I used to pass time playing games. I even can read at the same time I'm listening to music while on the treadmill at the gym. And, I can put a 'hold' on books I want to read and am informed when they're available. No complaints at all.
How did I go so long not knowing about this app! A great resource for book and audiobook enthusiasts.
Libby means you never have to be without a book!
Libby make reading library books easier. The app is easy to use and fun.
Never had any trouble with the app and just transferred it to my tablet
Great resource in downloading books for my kindle.
This app is a very useful app I got several books and the wait wasn’t too long. All in all this is a very useful app!
I just love being able to borrow a book or magazine without leaving home. It’s nice to have audiobooks for the car too.
I rely on Libby to provide me with audiobooks and e-books that may not be available in my library building! It’s easy and efficient, saves gas or a 4 mile walk! What a gift!
I can’t say enough great things about this app. I have read over 200 books for FREE. Since I read so much, it used to get quite expensive. I love that I can just go in and select a new book anywhere in the world that I am. I love the recordkeeping that they do on the ones that I really liked or didn’t like. I know exactly where I am on the waiting list.I do not find anything negative at all. It is all good.
Libby has every book you could imagine. And you don’t have to even spend a penny.
Libby allows me to check out books from the Arkansas Digital Library Consortium which connect me to many more titles than our rural local library. The site is easy to navigate, and I enjoy accessing various book descriptions and reviews while perusing the selections.
This app works so well with my public library, so seamless with my library account to keep up with my books on loan & books waiting in a queue. To everyone having a hand in creating it you’ve got my heartfelt thanks and admiration. I highly recommend this app to everyone who loves reading as much as I do. Thanks
I enjoy a traditional library as well as a virtual library. This is a great app that mimics the functions of a library at your fingertips.
I was skeptical at first , but I freaking love it .
I really enjoy audio and reading books. Libby makes it easy for me to get the books online in bot formats.
Highly recommend it. You can borrow e-books and audiobooks for free. Works well with my phone device. It’s free.
I was quite content with Overdrive. I keep wondering, since Overdrive worked just as well, why was the change to Libby required? What are the advantages?
Perfect for book lovers than can’t have enough from kindle, audible and the other platforms.
Very happy with this app. It is easy to use. It has everything that are needed for pleasant reading.
Accidentally gave it five stars actually four stars. Have to wait for most books more than a week. It’s annoying waiting in fact,it feels like a year but good books and audio books. It’s a little hard to get out of comic books
Anytime I get to be the one to tell someone about Libby, I feel like a hero. It’s impossible to buy all the books I want to listen to, and Libby allows me access to a giant catalog FOR FREE. Why more people don’t shout about the magic of libraries and Libby, I don’t know.
No notes, it’s an excellent app.
2 Negative User Reviews for Libby, the library app
This app is very basic. The one improvement it needs is to be able to sort with exclusions. For instance, if you want to read a mystery novel, you shouldn’t have to sort through hundreds of mystery novels that are also fantasy novels or part of a series.
I found once Libby merged with another book loaning organization, the overall ease of navigation has become much more difficult. For example I have a hard time finding the history of the books which I have read. That’s just one example. When I search for a title or author, I don’t always know which library it is pinging for availability. Overdrive was so much easier to use.
