Ok

Lagging a day behind. Just a little frustrating.

It’s a good app

It’s a good app but the reason why I gave it 3 stars is because the calorie count is off. For example, I had a can of Olipop which only has 35calories but Lifesum said it has 150calories. A small Ocean Water from sonic is 150calories but Lifesum said it was 380calories. 🤨🤨🤨🤨. I always weight my food first before eating so Lifesum can be accurate but I guess it’s not accurate with the drinks.

Mixed Feelings

I’ve really enjoyed using the app over multiple periods. The recent updates have been great overall, but I’ve noticed a couple of issues: 1. On meal plans, I’m unable to save custom macronutrient adjustments when trying to increase limits. I have decreased and the save button turns green. When I increased limits it does not allow me to save. 2. Adding/logging meals feels confusing, especially with the new AI chatbot integration. The UI in this section isn’t very intuitive yet—I’m still figur

All In

So far it’s great and I’m all in

Success without pain!

Thoroughly enjoying the flexibility of the menus and the ability to create my own meal. The exercise tracker has gotten me up and going. Also enjoying the water tracker, encouraging me to drink more water. Thank you for giving me the boost I needed!

Overall great app

Love the app more than others I’ve used.especially the macro breakdown . Only cons- need more options for food entries. Also should be easier to adjust portions to tsp/tbsp/cup or single piece, etc- using weight and “serving” not easy enough.

Scanner

The scanner is not always accurate.

Prior to yesterday…

Prior to yesterday (app update) I would have given the app 4 stars. This is because I have run into so many foods that were marked “verified”, yet the nutritional information was off by a long shot. After the app updated yesterday it no longer correctly adds a repeat meal from the day before. It shows the meal from the day before, but it just adds the first food from that meal when the “+” is tapped.

Calorie Counter

This is a good app to use if you want to track your calories and exercise Easy to use

Enjoying it! One suggestion..

I’m loving this app so far! It’s aesthetically appealing and the pro features are great. It would be really helpful to be able to adjust the water container size in the pro app or add some other standard options. I drink out of a 20oz bottle all day, but the only options are an 8.45oz glass and a 16.91oz bottle. Makes it tricky to track accurately.

This app is almost perfect!

This app is a perfect replacement for my fitness pal but as of yesterday the app now sluggish when adding foods. Sometimes the food is added twice when it is only selected once which causes me to delete one and end up deleting both in the process. If these changes are fixed I can confidently say this app is worthy of a 5 star review.

Best app for tracking.

I’ve used it for 6 years. They respond quickly to problems

Best app on the market

Well, this app does EXACTLY what I needed. Way beyond it’s competitors. Subscription was affordable. Google does not recommend this app when you search for “calorie tracker app” which is a mistake. Good job devs!

1st Calorie Counter I like

I used quite a few calorie apps and I will admit it hard to please me but with this one I’m actually impressed. Not only does it help you keep track with your calories but it’s linked to my apple exercise program and automatically track my calories burned. Also the the different diet you can try depending on what you’re doing. I can go on and on but I won’t I will say I’m definitely keeping this app.

I’m enjoying this app very much 😁

This app is very intuitive. It took me a few days to learn the ins and outs, but now I’m drinking lots of water and eating very well :)

Had some problems but I’m still here

App is amazing in its free form, had some problems first time I tried premium and got refund, but I still use app every time I eat and now I am back on trying premium. However, the recipes they really should not suggest canola oil I don’t care if it’s cold pressed or not don’t steer people to unhealthy and unnatural oils. You can figure this out with simple internet search or a robust pubmed deep dive. Few gripes but still such a help in my life and I’m in good shape not even trying to lose weig

Positive food tracking app

The use of smiley faces for each meal is such a positive thing. It encourages you to not try and short yourself calories, since one of the factors seems to be the amount eaten. You’re already at a deficit, just eat enough good variety to make it happy, don’t try to penalize yourself in the present for whatever food “mistakes” you made the previous day. It helps counteract the negative feelings other calorie tracking apps can cause for some people, by focusing on making each meal a good one.

They keep removing features

They keep removing features to try and get people to subscribe to the premium version but it's still much better than any other calorie app.

Great but missing a few things

Love how this app is keeping me accountable, but it needs additional HealthKit integration. I track my water through other apps, so just like Lifesum pulls activity data, it should also be able to pull water intake from the Health App and fill in my water on Lifesum accordingly. Please pass this along :)

Almost Perfect

A bit buggy when it comes to using it on an ipad or smaller iphone. No way to give direct feedback except this review. No way to exit foods you create after you’ve hit “done”.

LIFESUM

I truly like this app. I’m 70 years old and getting use to the app is quite easy. I don’t have to write anything down and thats a blessing for me. I also like the menu’s LIFESUM provide!

Better than my fitness pal?

I have been using this app for about a week and I must say, I think this is better than my fitness pal! The database is pretty comparable, and the user interface is really pretty but also easy to use. Also, the widgets are really nice. Over all, I’ve really enjoyed this app. Also, the price is way more reasonable!

Great interface but wonky serving sizes

I really like the interface of this app. It’s intuitive and visually pleasing. I’ve stopped using it as my main app though because the serving sizes are inconsistent. Often the measurement you need doesn’t exist. (ie can’t measure cooked penne in volume, only weight) This is especially frustrating when trying to build a recipe in the app. There also seems to be a lot of user entered foods that are wildly inconsistent. Hopefully this will get worked out because I like the ease of navigation 10x b

Has to be an easier way…

There has to be an easier way when accidentally recoding food under the wrong meal. This process isn’t straightforward and requires the deletion rather than being able to edit the meal and categorize it correctly

Good for tracking but verify

Seems like most items are not standardized or verified but added by users; for example, portion sizes are subjective with many “standard servings” which are not defined.

I really like it i just which there can be a few changes made..

it’s a nice app but i wish that i can edit/delete the foods we make just in case we make a mistake on the information we put in

5 Negative User Reviews for Lifesum: Food and Diet Tracker

Was great, but they took away the best feature

I’ve been using Lifesum for years now, I even upgraded to Lifesum premium a few times—now being one of them. My husband and I use this app every single day, I cook mainly so I just send him the meals afterwards. Unfortunately, they recently took that feature away and my husband and I are floundering to hit our daily goals now. it’s twice as much work and extremely draining. I’ve seen people contact Lifesum support and the support team just keeps saying they’re never going to bring that feature b

Did not like

I just signed up with a subscription and I’d like the basic one. The newest subscription got too complicated for me when I tried to go back to the original version. It ended up unsubscribing me, which is not what I wanted to do.

Reduced to 2 stars for constant pro version ads

This never happened in the past, I’m just hoping this annoyance is just for the holidays. I will update my review once the constant reminder to upgrade to Pro level that appears in my face everytime the app opens, up goes away.

Same nice features as others

Nice layout, features are consistent with others. Not a part of Apple family sharing so a paid plan is of no value to me.

Once great app ruined by ChatGPT

I used LifeSum in the before ChatGPT times and it was amazing. It made it easy to monitor my health and progress toward my fitness goals. Now the nutrition tracking is completely useless. Nothing I’ve tried to add has been accurate which was rarely a problem before and it keeps asking me to manually enter every detail or barcode to retrain it. Don’t waste your time or money. The free version is more accurate.
