Medela Family - Breast Feeding App Reviews

Even though I don’t use a Medela pump, I love this app. It’s simple, ad free, and let’s you track both breastfeeding and pumping.

There are lots of nice features in this app I would have given it 5 stars if the Apple Watch app wasn’t just for VIP which I don’t qualify for because I have an older medela pump that doesn’t use blue tooth. It would be nice to be able to track breastfeeding on my watch.

Update: The developers listened to my below request and were very quick to address the issue. Thank you team. loved the app so far. But with the latest update the app keeps loading and is super glitchy. There’s no way to enter volume unless you slide the scale. Can we please update this back to how it previously was. Unable to update accurate volume. It’s easier to type in volume

A little bit funny - but if you enter less than one ounce for a pump session a notice comes up asking if you want to save the session without entering an amount. Medela is judging my supply. Glitchy. Requires an internet connection just for recording pump sessions. Data is not easy to utilize. I'd like to see at a glance how my supply this week compares to last week (possible, but inconvenient). And have insights into what duration and frequency works best for my output.

I like this app because it’s so easy to keep track of numbers and sessions. The only issue that is that I can’t keep the measurements separate. For example I want to use pounds for baby weight and ML for milk volume but the metric is either all or nothing.

My data keeps getting mixed up with pump and feeding from future dates 7/7/2035 and so on . I have to constantly go in and delete miss information

It runs slow and doesn’t load sometimes. Other times it tracks the wrong time. Overall it’s fine for a free app and does what it should.

I love the fact that you can sync your pump to the app, so if you pump without opening the app, the next time you pump and open the app it remembers your session. Makes it a lot easier to track your pumping sessions and you can also log diaper changes, bottle feedings, and much more. Highly recommend

Super helpful for tracking diapers and BF sessions. Easily navigated and straightforward. So convenient so I could tell the pedi @ my daughter’s first appt a breakdown of her diapers and how often she’s feeding. Thanks madela!

The app is not synced with the pump and always delayed if not connected at all and even entering data manually is frustrating because it doesn’t work most of the time!

We’ve been using this app every day for the past 10 months, and it has been very helpful in keeping track of feedings and naps. However, I haven’t had any other app that’s as randomly non-responsive as this one. Additionally, the virtual milk storage is virtually useless as trying to access it crashes the app
