12 Positive User Reviews for MIDI Tape Recorder
Excellent Work
I have been wanting this exact functionality for such a long time and I’m extremely pleased to see that this app is finally here. It features a very quality user interface and functions exactly as described. I cannot thank the developer enough. Keep up the amazing work, please.
Versatile Tool!
Fills a gap where I needed JUST this capability! MPE is a sorely neglected area that's getting better all the time.
Keep up the good work!
EDIT NOTES
This is just what’s needed except we need to EDIT THE NOTES, CLIPS, note data, etc
So good
I’m using it on AUM on iPad to record a nord drum 2. Seems very precise. SO enjoyable to use. It is like yer in my head. Please redesign all software I use.
YEAH
Finally a way to export midi from GarageBand muchas gracias
I am confused.
I don’t know how to use it. I been trying to find out how to use it but can’t. And also I am trying to use it on garageband.
Excellent little midi recorder
Does exactly what it promises and is super handy. No problems in AUM or Drambo. Negative reviewers should read the documentation and perhaps study up a bit more on how to work with MIDI and AUv3 plugins in their preferred host app.
Also, if you get really bizarre recordings that sound like some invisible, recently used IAA midi source app hasn’t closed properly - restart your device. 🙃
Brilliant and essential
A staple of my toolset for recording MIDI on iOS. I’ve been using it for years and it has never let me down, and in my experience is the most faithful and reliable method of recording MIDI. Excellent support from the developer too.
Excellent
Works flawlessly with AUM on the iPad! I wonder if this is the answer to recording midi using Mainstage on the Mac. Mainstage only records audio if you want to record a performance. This may work if you want to record midi for archival reasons inside of Mainstage.

All the stars for this one!
Geert Fanboy Here
Wow. Best MIDI dev in the world? And this is open source. So clean, elegant. I'm learning just from studying the source code. You go!
Takes a little fiddling around, but…
…a utility like this is so obviously useful for almost any musician who uses midi-enabled stuff that it worth it.
Would love to see a built-in editor.
