Great sounding synth, so many classic sounds.
Yeah, sounds awesome. Really biting sound. Has an extra 'kick' to it'
Frequently I will open up the Mini on a new track and it just refuses to make a sound. I can see the keys moving. I check all the knobs to be sure soudn should be coming through. I pull up a known good patch. Silence. I have no other VI that behaves like this. It's to the point where I suconsciously avoid using it. I'll go to Largo or Model 15 instead. I keep hoping the latest update will fix this, but it never does. I don't know what the updates fix. I'd rate it lower but it actually sounds p
My music directiomn has gone through the roof since i got this app. Please do more virtual Moog!! I wanna save all more money for a real moog one!
Simply, I come up with stuff on this plug that doesn’t happen otherwise. Game changing.
GREAT APP! Fantastic sounds! But, how do you save presets now the button is gone?
Love this recreation of the Minimoog D - very realistic, and the sound is incredible.
Amazing easy to use software version of the first portable modular synth. Loving it!
This synth is riddled with crashing in Logic which is frustrating becuase it sounds good. My Mac is a really fast video editing mac. Sound work should not be an issue.
I love this app very much. The one thing I wish it had was the ability to zoom in on areas of the interface. Not easy to see if you have a small screen.
This is one of the best musical apps ever made!!!
I think Michael Iceberg had one of the original physical versions of this in the Iceberg Machine back when he was performing at WDW. I bought this while working on re-creating some of his music - think this is about as close as I'm going to get to his sound. "Synnnnnthesizers...!"
GREAT APP! Fantastic sounds! But, how do you save presets now the button is gone?
Excellent exploratory tool, to play with how old syths were setup. excellent sound module in the long run as well. beutifully executed. pure fun.
I used to be able to download an attachement of a bank from email on an ipad and it would ask me to open it with Moog Model D App. Now it just asks to save into files and doesn't show up there. New way to do this or is it a bug? ThankS! Love it.
Please make a vst of this.
I this app it’s better than my Korg nts1 which didn’t surprise me and app was $30.00 compared to $120.00 that is what I paid for the nts 1 don’t get me wrong the is so good but can you fix the knob issue I’m having sometimes I’m using the nobs and sensitivity just goes down and hard to turn them so can you please fix this it make my experience 10 times better.
I was ready to start buying modules, but then it decided not to work with GarageBand. The interface was great, and I was going to start trying with a keyboard through midi. But sadly it won’t work now that’s the only reason why I gave it 3 stars, because it would have been 5.
Sounds like the original at fraction of the cost. Thanks Bob!
Amazing sounds, and easy to use. (And just plain fun, too!) Would buy again in a heartbeat.
I would call this a near identical digital version of a minimoog. This thing rips analog through my digital circuits. Great work moog for providing a game changer into my arsenal of synthesis.
Concidering this has all the features of the real thing, plus many patches this is worth the purchase.
Great plugin, fat analog sound, works great on Mac with Logic Pro. It's the model D plugin I've always wanted, straight from Moog. My only complaint is that the presets are so loud, they're almost clipping. I've hurt my ears on a few occassions adding the plugin and playing a note, when everything else in the project is hovering between -18 to -12 average dbfs. Great for fat retro analog basses and leads, bad for tinnitus and ear health.
What an incredible instrument and super faithful to the original hardware, with the advantages of polyphony and MIDI. I am pleasant surprised and blown away by this powerful app! Recommend it hands down! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Now working as a plug-in in my Mac DAW system!
Very disappointing purchase as I cannot load a bank of presets and the manual is out of date and no longer matches the current app. It feels like they want you to purchase from them but made it impossible to load banks from others. I really hope they fix this soon.
My only complaint about this synth is that the gain is set way too high by default to the point of causing clipping. I can of course lower it manually but then if I change the patch it reverts to its default excessive levels. There doesn’t seem to be an option in the settings to change this and it is a serious hinderance to workflow. Seems like it would be fairly easy for the developers to fix, I know I’m not the only one to complain about this as almost every YouTuber to feature this app has ha
Incredible plugin. One of the best emulation plugins i've ever heard.
The sound coming from Logic Pro is good but I often need to put a gain plugin or limiter on the plugin to keep the sound from clipping, the output is very loud at times. I also find that using the typing keyboard while the plugin window is open it limits the keyboard to one one octave.
very powerful tool for an app have it on my ipad iphone and mac os this is insane for the price I use it on pro tolls studio/LUNA/Logic with no issues
This VI sounds great and works well in Logic Pro 10.7.5. If it had preset favorites and a choice to set global volume (so that it doesn't change as I'm auditioning presets - the default output is a bit too hot) I'd give it a full 5 stars. But great sound, so I love it!
I've only fallen into the world on synthesis in the past two years and have been trying to absorb as much knowledge as possible. The Model D app on my ipad and now for Mac OS have been prime resources to learning the fundementals.
Just installed the ModelD on my Mac desktop. It was free because I already owned the iOS version. Couldn’t believe it was free! This ModelD is the closest thing to the real one I have ever heard. I should know because I purchased my first MiniMoog back in 1973 at the age of thirteen. Having it on my computer is really fantastic! Thank you Moog Music!
A phenomenal app that captures all the fatness of the Minimoog at highway robbery prices.
awe geez I love you folks. Such wonderful sounds.
When all is working, it's 5 stars. I've stumbled on a couple bugs that get in the way of reliable use. The biggest is when saving a customized preset, the text field for naming is erratic in responding to input. This is such a small issue but it's farily frustraiting. Temp workaround: I type the would be name in another application, copy and paste into the input field. That seems to skip the figgity typeing bug. Other bugs in sellecting midi sources. Not too bad but at times creates stuck keys.
I had finally got the app to work thanks to the people at Moog. I’m re-editing the review to reflect how good the app and the developers are. Thank you
Update from 5d ago says fixed an issue with Logic Pro when standalone app hasn't been run. Bought the bundle, launched the standalone app, launched Logic Pro, and STILL get an error saying "unable to load"? Did anyone bother testing this before release?
Arturia’s Mini Moog model D for the iPad is the perfect combination of the touch interface and real-to-life emulation of the original - with many added features. Check out the long list, you’ll be impressed. Also, I am easily able to control Arturia’s Mini Moog model with the my electric and electro-acoustic guitars using MIDI Guitar 2 with almost no latency. Also can easily attach keyboards and other controllers.
The moog app combined with a midi keyboard and encoders is absolutely incredible and in some ways better than the original minimoog. Highly recommended!
I love this... im actually excited to write music again.. great app peoples..
Amazingly rich sound. I would love to hear some demos of this app side by side a physical minimoog model D. But even if not the same, that is probably not a big deal, this software is rich enough sound it could be useful even to someone with access to the physical instrument.
Playing this app inspires me to create music just the same as if I was in front of the real thing.
It was given to me on covid days Edit : i connected it with a casio keyboard and the pitch wheel doesn’t work propertly
Yay! I had no idea that the UI could be magnified, which makes my big complaint about it not valid ! Thank you Moog for responding so quickly and letting me know I was just silly :)
