Cool App to learn note names. As the name implies, it is an automated set of flash cards, with built-in challenge. Excellent for music students and teachers. As the father of two students I can highly recommend it.

This app. has quickly become a family favorite. It is very user friendly and customizable to each user. The hot potato setting keeps my children engaged for long periods of time and it is so fun they don't even realize that they are learning to read music! The price of this app. is such a bargain. You will not find any workbooks or flashcards that will teach musical notation in such an entertaining and engaging manner (at such a low cost). This is a must have for any music teacher or music

Do students ask to practice flash cards? They do if they're in the form of this app! I love the ease of programming just a few notes or many. My students enjoy the touch screen and feedback on their success. A win-win for both of us! The developer has been very responsive.

What I love about this app is that I can choose the specific notes to be drilled on, rather than just a range, and that it can drill on a grand (piano) staff. I'm very quick at recognizing the notes on the staff itself but I'm trying to improve my reading of ledger lines notes. I really wish the app was capable of drilling on 5 or 6 or 7 ledger lines though -- as it is now, it only goes up to three (above/below). This app was actually a major factor in my decision to purchase an iPhone! Used it last month on my daughter's iTouch for a Piano Performance Class, and the kids just LOVED the "Hot Potato" game. Easy to use, very flexible in drilling specific sets of notes.

I use this with every piano lesson I teach and have gotten most of my students to purchase it to use at home. Those who do have it to use at home have significantly improved their note-reading, usually in no time at all! I highly recommend it and would love for an iPad version to be developed!

Does a great job at helping students learn the notes on a staff.

I am an adult beginner and this app is awesome. Don't be put off by the cerebral interface. You will be up and running in no time. Extremely versatile and customizable. My nine year old grandson already whips me at Hot Potato and his six year old brother begs to play so we have created a game version with only three notes. It patiently drills me on the basic C position notes which is good because they are picking up this stuff faster than I am. One look at the screenshots will tell you that MFC

I've had this app for a year I think? I use it to help my son (6) learn notes for his piano practice. I am continually amazed by how customizable this app is -- I can choose exactly what we want to work on. It also truly helps him learn notes and read music faster. I notice a difference in reading music 'cold' vs after a quick run through on the app. Also it's great that the app never crashes or gets bogged down (on iPod touch). I highly recommend!

Please update the app. It does not work as it used to be.

Outstanding app that has turned note drilling into an activity my students actually request! The hot potato mode is a class favorite and the app's customizability makes it superior to any alternatives I have found on the App Store. I appreciate the developer's responsiveness, and am very happy to see an update featuring full iOS 8 and native iPad compatibility.
