My Lyric Book App Reviews

Three large binders into my tablet and backed up on my phone! Does simply what I want it to do. Store my lead sheets, make set lists, and NOTHING else! (I tried 3 other apps, but they did too much, set list maker for example.) Hook my tablet/phone to my MacBook, drop the files in through iTunes, and on my way. Oh, got pinch to zoom back! Weird way to make it work, but it works! (Scrolling PDF setting turned on) Friends wishing they could get a version for android.

Excellent if you have a crap load of lyric chord charts on your computer that you need to print out. Just input them with a click and you have them. Now, dragging $2.99 out of your pre Madonna band mates is the hard part, but if they use the charts you print out it’s worth it to give them the Monet so u don’t have to copy any longer. Works excellent on a pad with a pad holder.

I’ve been using this app for years and it’s the only one that comes close to what I need! Simple and easy to use if you don’t need to edit on the spot. Only wish I could set up two main song data bases, one for my solo shows and one for my band shows...other than that I love it!

This is an amazing app for a performing cover band musician like me. I read some of the low star reviews and I don’t get it. It seems like they didn’t spend a couple minutes in the app before using it. They just expected it to work the way they imagined it to. Ian’s support is fast and intelligent. It is loaded with features, even some I don’t use, and is extremely easy to load charts from Google Drive. I’m trying to talk my keyboard players into using it so they can get automatic patch changes

I love this app. It has just the right amount of functionality without a lot of extra complications. I gig in multiple bands, mostly as a keyboard player (so it doesn’t have to be just lyrics). I make my lead sheets and print them as PDFs, AirDrop them to the iPad into My Lyric Book. Set lists can be made for multiple bands/events with different sets of song selections, and edited/re-ordered (drag and drop) as shows evolve. And the low price! Thank you

I have used this app for almost 10 years. As a singer entertainer of Urdu & Hindi Geet and Ghazals it has been the perfect app for me. It provided me with the ability to maintain list of song lyrics, create song lyric lists (by original singers, concert program, etc. etc.), ability to pull up lyrics at a moment’s notice during a live performance.

My team and I really enjoy using this app to store our lead sheets and chord charts for us. It’s cost-effective and it just plain works. **The main thing the team and I fell that this app needs is the ability to directly mark, highlight and add notes onto our stored music sheets . This addition and ability would be very helpful and I hope that the developers consider adding this feature to the app. Right now there is a drop-down box to add notes into and it becomes cumbersome when you’re trying

I was looking for an app that would display 2-column pdf lyric sheets, because I didn’t want to deal with scrolling. Plus I wanted to have backing tracks at a touch of a button. This app accomplished the combining of lyrics and tracks, simply and effectively. I also like the metronome bpm for each song. That helps with live-looping. Like any app there a small learning curve, but once you’ve got it, it’s amazing!

This app is just what I need without a bunch of extra complications. I have all my songs on my iPad, and I make lists to put them in groups for each band I play with. I make set lists for events, for easy page turning and set tempos too for counting off.

It's a great app for small gigs. We love the auto send lyric selections to other iPads over BlueTooth or Wifi, unfortunatley that feature no longer works after IOS 10 update. NEEDS an UPDATE for IOS10 ! If that works again, I would give it a 5.

Please make the font adjustable for lyrics, it is to small and no option to adjust. Ps: Also add option to center lyrics or align left and night or day background colors will be nice.

i use this app w/my iPad @ every show as my "teleprompter". it's very simple & straightforward and has been quite reliable...

I had no problems updating to iOS 7 on an iPad with this app. I'd like to add that I've used the app now for about three months, and I don't know how I ever got along without it!

Just what I needed to store my lyrics! I use this app on stage, and I love that I can create lists to categorize my songs. I have some questions before I update to OS 7. Where can I find your contact info?

Good all around design and setup. Just what I was looking for. One problem is the inability to edit song lyrics within the app - you have to edit the pdf elsewhere, and import it into the app. Can't copy and paste lyrics into a new song.

Es muy Bueno. I use this with a page turner for gigs. It works well. It needs a search button, but I still like it.

This app is great! It stores lyrics, set lists and allows you to zoom on word and pdf docs. Great purchase. Those low ratings are very unfair. Based on the reviews I can tell people didn’t take the time to figure it out.

I’ve been using “My Lyric Book” several years now. Simple to import song lyrics (ie: Word files) from your laptop. Great for making/sorting set lists on the fly. Responsive email support from the author, thanks Ian.

I’ve used this app for years with so many performances and have hundreds of songs I’ve collected and paid for from iTunes and now, it seems the site is not supported or updated and its not allowing me to add any more to it. Tried to reach developer web page and it never opened! Whats the deal? Very frustrated! Any help please? September14, 2020. I see most reviews are from a few years back. Does this app even work now??

Unfortunately, since OS8 this app will not load songs into iTunes without corrupting the file. You will be forced to re-edit your word docs. I have 1000+ and the editing time required has made this app no longer very useful.

Difficult getting files into the app unless you are connected to a MacBook. I purchased this hoping to accomplish building a set list locally on my ipad... lesson learned.

Beware that you need iTunes to use this app.
