45 Positive User Reviews for Nike Run Club: Running Coach

One of the best apps I’ve ever used.

Not only is this a wonderful run tracker it is a phenomenal coach. After picking a plan you feel guided. Not just motivation but proper coaching on how to run and how you should be feeling while running. Additionally the whole app is seamless with a Nike X Apple level of quality.

Long time user, improvements still needed

I’ve use this app for my runs for many years. I’ve considered and tried others but always find my way back to this one. That said, there’s still room for improvement. I would love if while completing one of the plans, users could mark rest days as completed and mark runs scheduled during the week as “skipped.” The training plans recommend 3-5 runs per week and advises adjusting as needed. Since there’s no way to signal you’ve consciously skipped runs, when you get to the end there’s no way to “C

Awesome

Great, especially for a free app

Love it, but can we get an update?

I love this app. I’ve been using it since 2016. I love the guided runs and love the fact that some new guided walks were added. Coach Bennett is the best. He always makes me feel like I can do anything. I wish there interval training plans and new graphics/stickers to add to our photos!

Great running app

This is the best running app I think I've ever used it's free and super helpful I've gotten so good at running from using this app I used to not be able to run at all and now I can run 2 miles!!! I totally recommend this app to new runners or old runners it's great for everybody to use!!

Awesome

I rate this a five star bc it’s helping me get better at running, I’ve only done 2 runs so far but it’s fun and it is helping me like running more, I’ve only been doing slow jogs that are kinda faster than a walk, but I’m still doing good. I love coach Bennett being there the whole time giving me tips and talking while I run I really love this app and I also like how it connects to my Spotify

Fun, free, and easy!

Love this app. The training plans are all so fun, the runs feel easy, and they push me to do better. So glad NRC was there to help guide me in making healthier choices!

NRC

Love this app. It keeps me on track and motivated!

My best pal

This app has been with me for almost 10 years! I like their 5k & 10k program. Their coaches’ speech about how to measure success is very helpful for keeping a positive sports mentality.

The GOAT

I’ve been using the NRC app consistently now for the past 14 months. I’ve gone through multiple training plans and have enjoyed them all. This is the most consistent I’ve ran my entire life and I owe a lot of that to the help and coaching I’ve received from NRC.

It’s fine.

It’s fine, not great. Some of the Nike shoes, even top-tier new ones, are not available to track your miles. You have to make a generic shoe entry for them. Not having dark mode (in 2025!) will burn your retinas out. Weird UI decisions too.

Awesome app

I’ve been using this more recently now to keep my runs tracked it is a good job to do that and there are some good stuff like adding friends and cool run levels to make it even more challenging. 10/10 also for being free

Love the app, have a suggestion

I love this app. I never used to enjoy running but the guided runs led by the fantastic NRC coaches have really changed my outlook. The one complaint I have is there is no way to adjust the coach volume independently form the music volume. I often find the coach too quote or the music too loud. I also wish there was an easy way to search and sort through the runs.

SO good!

As someone who never thought they would learn to love running, thank you! This app is AMAZING. The only flaw is there isn’t a search feature for guided runs. Outside of that, AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING.

Where’s the 10k training?

Enjoyed the 5k training. Is there a way for yall to do a similar guided training plan for 10k. Im sure im not the only one.

Great app!!!

Love how easy it is to set up and connect to garmin. I wish there was a social aspect amount connections

Incredible app

I love this app! It’s so helpful for my runs!

Love

I’ve never written a review for an app before but this one deserves it. I downloaded this app when I was on a track team 8 YEARS AGO. Still use it to this day and it’s only gotten better. Above all else, it’s for free! You can track your distance, see your pace, and have guided runs by Nike coaches. It’s a great wait to track yourself and I highly recommend.

Fabulous App! It’s wonderful they give us all the benefits for free! Love the UI and the community!

Also, big ups to Coach Bennet, that man is amazing.

❤️ Nike Run!

New guided runs with new coaching and updated playlists keep me motivated to come back for more running. It’s easy to get into a rut, but the variety of runs available on this app give me lots of options when I’m looking for a challenge or just something new. I highly recommend their training programs, as well.

Love it

I am really enjoying the nike app. Great coaching with some music in the background. And it’s free…

App doesn’t work half the time

A lot of the time the app won’t even load the screen just stays black

Enjoy D Run

I like that the App provides an update for every mile completed. I only wish it could motivate me at every half mile. I enjoy the run and the wealth of knowledge for every mile…cheers

Best running app.

Nike Run Club is the best app for runners. It is so easy to track runs and keep track of your runs. You can also sync Apple health with the app so all of your rings will be filled. I would totally recommend this app for the beginner, or the veteran.

10’13”

Runs dating as far back as December, 18th 2013. My pace was better then, I had more love. She’s gone now but the places and paces of those chilly nights by the lake as my father walked and I ran are there on this app. Upon reflecting, I still love the same, and the juxtaposition between preserving or where I am pushes me evermore to just do it.

Better than Strava

This app works wonders. It keeps me on track with my running. I can join challenges/or look at my friends on the leaderboard to keep me motivated. You even get discounts on Nike products every now and then. I’ve been here since around 2014 and it was exclusively running. Now it has workouts on here too. Nike just evolving with the times.

NRC

Ran 1.83 miles with Nike Run Club today ~ Difficult run, as usual over the last couple years Nike Running app is way off on the treadmill vs. running on the streets. Even getting the IPhone 14 didn’t fix it. Lol, so got frustrated and said, come back tomorrow after 21 minutes. C’est la vie, talking directly to Nike didn’t help. I’ve run over 2700 miles in 4 years, so I won’t be leaving but this is a fairly known issue in the running community.

Terrible for Indoor/Treadmill, Decent for Outdoor Runs

The only way to use this with an Apple Watch and a treadmill is to forget your phone completely - and only use your watch. There’s no way to run on a treadmill and drive a run from your phone (which seems the easiest and most logical way). There are also two separate “Indoor” switches you have to set! One on your phone (which requires you to carry your phone while running on a treadmill - who does that?!), and one on your watch (which is only if you drive the run through your watch, without your

Please activate the action button on the ultra apple watch

It would be great if the app natively supported the new action button in the Apple Watch ultra. Thanks!

Great app for all levels of runners

I started this app because I needed to keep in shape for soccer, and have fallen in love with it ever since. It has everything you could think of. My personal favorite part of this app is the guided runs because they push you to work your hardest every time!

Love the coaching

I started this app with exactly 14 weeks until I run a half marathon and I’m on week 7 now. The coaching has been a great help with helping me reach the distances and increasing my pace. I love the fact that they included mindfulness as part of the training it makes a big difference. I can’t wait till I’m done with all 14 weeks. I hope the do more training with the coaches in the future for people preparing for a marathon or more.

Question regarding new metrics on watchOS 9

Avid user of NRC. My preferred run tracking app to use with Apple Watch. Wondering if NRC has plans to add the new metrics that watchOS 9 offers in the stock fitness app. Specifically vertical oscillation, ground contact time, and stride length. Keep up the good work!

Simple review

Love this app. For me best running app of all. Easy to use and very enjoyable coaching.

Absolutely recommended

As a person who has been trying to get more healthy, this app has been one of the most understanding and flexible running choices! Not only are the guided runs helpful but they are also very motivating! Definitely recommend!

Love the accountability and guided training

This app has been a great companion in helping me improve my running. Love how it tracks and how I can see where I am improving or need improvement. Also, the different guided training is a great way to stay mindful and improve your skills as a runners. Highly recommend it. Thanks Nike for the free guided runs. Truly beneficial and kudos to y’all.

Great App for Great Runners

This app is amazing for anyone who wants to get in or back in to running. I use it everyday and have yet to see a problem. Highly highly recommended.

Buggy

I love this app but it’s been a bit buggy lately

My life!

I love this app and use it to run every time and I’m currently using the training plan for a full marathon after successfully completing a half marathon using your training plan! I just want to know when there will be an in person Nike event 😭 I always see the tab and I want to experience one.

Why do I have to hold my phone to record my miles on treadmill?

I love the nike app but what I don’t like about it is that if I’m on the treadmill ,even though I have my Apple Watch, I have to hold my phone in my hand to record how many miles I've done while running or walking. I don’t really like that.

Thanks

Thanks for bringing back the full marathon training. Love you guys !!!

Back home with the Run Club

I left this app for a few years due to using Fitbit and Apple Watch. Glad to see that this app interfaces with the Apple Watch and my iPhone as well as it does. Walking more than running but it’s all good.

My favorite app ever.

This app has given me the discipline I’ve always wanted. It has helped me help myself. I’m so thankful for this app and I can’t believe it’s free. I would pay a lot of money for it. Download it now and get started.

I can finally use training plans on my Apple Watch

Thank you NRC for an amazing app… And now I can use the half marathon plan and track and use guided runs in my Apple Watch after I updated. Yayyyyy!!! Coach Bennett is fantastic- these guided runs are a game changer for me. Thank you!

2 Negative User Reviews for Nike Run Club: Running Coach

Inaccuracy

I’ve been using the Nike Run Club app for over 13 years. These last few months the distance and pace have been inaccurate. I’ve tried researching online, took the tips that were given and can’t seem to get it fixed. I’ve been finding Strava more accurate and am Seriously considering switching because the NRC app is really messing up my training. I’d be happy to pay for a premium version that was accurate. Anyway I hope Nike fixes this because I love the app otherwise.

Inaccurate

Not sure what happened or if there was an update but the mileage and time is completely off now. I’ve been running the same route for 5 years now and going on two weeks now that the distance is coming up short now even though the route is the same. For example I usually do a 4 mile run and by the end of the run it’s coming up as 3.8. I tested it today with the app and my garmin with the pace being off a good 33 seconds as well. I’m not a fast runner but found it strange how my usual pace of 8:39
