NOAA Dual Radar App Reviews

I like the use and the look of the Dual Radar app, but almost every time I open it up it freezes on the update screen the only way I can get it to work is shut it down close the app out by swiping it and restart it. it works all right next time exact same thing acts like an incompatibility to iOS 15 possibly or it’s just buggy software need to get your bugs fixed and then it will be an excellent app for watching the weather. Thank you.

Solid radar app!!!

I wished that the app had cloud cover along with the rain or clear skies. Other than that it is a great app.

I have not tried others that were not part of a weather app. This has been phenomenal for accurate information. Definitely beat AccuWeather app radar consistently for accuracy every time I compared.

You can choose one of the composite views, or you can choose a specific radar station and tap into specialized readings like dual polarization. It’s a nice, simple, no nonsense “just show me the data” app.

Excellent program, it works. Being in aviation, love the information on cloud heights. Direction of movement, and temperatures.Really good. Joe

I’ve been using this app for a long long time and I never get tired of using it everyday. To make this app my primary app I really wish there was a lightning strike feature.

I have two favorite weather radar apps and this is one of them. What I really like is the ability to see the whole nation’s weather at once and with the excellent satellite terrain mapping.

Either make all tools available to use or remove them from the app. If you try and use the storm relative velocity feature, it crashes the app and you have to delete and reinstall. Luckily the base velocity has similar features and works, otherwise it would be 1 star and delete the app.

Dual function works well. See rotation before the local news puts it out or not? This years winter 2022 you cannot visualize winter precipitation like previous years. It’s worthless for winter storms. In radar station mode the storm velocity does not work at all and has not for years. It provides a decent radar, moisture and cloud mode. In station mode there are other modes that work but without the storm velocity it is incomplete. I repeat the same review for 2023-2024 Storm Velocity does not

I had rated this as 5 star, but now watches and warnings don’t show up any more. There hasn’t been an update in a long time, so not sure it is supported any more. Shouldn’t be a paid app if it isn’t supported. Doesn’t show radar full screen on my iPhone, just shows radar data on part of the screen.
