My GO-TO Weather App

I have used this weather radar app for many years. It helps me avoid driving in heavy rain. Using it, I have become really good at predicting if and when a thunderstorm cell will arrive and will leave, making it easier to have outdoor activities with confidence.

Great Product

The map is excellent. The radar loads immediately. That’s the reason I bought this app. The other apps take ages to load their radar, but not this app!

Love this app

The most detailed weather radar app I have found. Recently it started to lock up a lot. Hoping for a fix.

make it where you can see the velocity

It’s very good app and it’s worth the money this is my go to app for everything but one think I don’t like about it is how I can’t see the velocity and see where a tornado is so if you can add this feature it would be amazing

Uses the distorted Mercator Projection map

The map used is the inaccurate Mercator Projection map which is a distorted and inaccurate view of the land masses. It is meant to enlarge the land masses in the Northern hemisphere. Alaska is smaller than Mexico, and Greenland is substantially smaller than the size shown. Africa is small on the map, but is much larger. The Petersen’s Projection map is a better map to use.

Weather radar app

And it is just that. Radar only. I paid for this but hard to believe it doesn’t have a lightning tracker as well. As free apps provide this.

dependable accuracy, works great!

even after 6 years this is still one of the best apps for precise storm radar data

Favorite radar mosaic app

This is my favorite radar mosaic app again, now that they fixed the missing warning boxes.

Go to weather app

Love this app…living in Southern Cal we get rain activity seldom and from different directions. Using this app I can see where the cells are and if they will pass my location and when. Love it!

No Frills, Accurate, Super Res and Free!

I have used this great Weather Radar app for 12+ years on two different iPads (3rd generation and currently 5th). Obviously, I find it essential! The format is simple and just what you need to view instant and accurate high definition radar. If you want to see severe thunderstorm or tornado or flood warning NWS alerts, just turn on in the settings. Invaluable app especially if you live in or are traveling in an area where these tend to frequently occur. Instant current weather conditions and for

Warning boxes

Warning boxes such as tornado warning or Severe Thunder storm warning quit showing up. It has happened on the app on all of our phone.

Not bad, nut not good either

The DbZ is way exaggerated. It is raining lightly out right now, but the app shows that it is moderately heavy. Also, the storm cell tracking seems to have completely disappeared even though I have it activated. But good luck finding anything better

Review from Radarman907

I’ve used this app for probably over twenty years now. It’s on its fourth iPad. Don’t recall how many cellphones. Missouri has historically been in Tornado Alley, though climate change may be moving that southward. Since I am a Skywarn Weatherspotter, I use the app a lot. It has been a top performer for me.

The Best

I’ve downloaded and tested an absurd amount of weather apps for the radar and this one is hands down the best. Just praying they make an iPhone version for my motorcycle trips.

Light excellent radar app

Loved this for years because it will load and run when I’m on the water or in rural areas with weak cell signal. Other weather apps have more bells and whistles but when storms bubble up and you need quick reliable radar this is your best friend. Wonderfully lightweight at 5.2MB. Also shows TS and hurricane tracks, flash flood and storm/tornado watch/warnings.

Can always count on

Very precise and accurate within a couple minutes. Highly recommend!

4 Negative User Reviews for NOAA SuperRes Radar US

I want the original version

The original version was better than this updated one.

Need update

I used to looooove this app. For some reason lately it doesn’t function as it once did. The storm tracker function doesn’t work, the warning boxes don’t update as fast, etc.. just need to go back to original, or update properly

No updates weather app

Been using this app for years and paid for the no ads version. The radar lags with zooming in and out. No updates for 2 years makes me wonder how accurate everything is. Kinda disappointing.

Been My Go To Weather App -

Add more features (jet stream, detailed fronts) and a app update would be awesome, only been 4+ years since the last update.
