11 Positive User Reviews for Omnipod 5 App

I don’t really have any complaint and the company keeps streamlining. It’s user-friendly. The one thing I ask is for instance Dexcom has a widget that can be programmed on the phone to show up on the home screen or lock screen. Can you get one in the works too? The latest problem I’ve had is the Dexcom sensor sometimes only pairs with the Omnipod app but not Dexcom so I’m not easily able to have the time to open the phone and look at my blood sugar on Omnipod app. So please get a widget up and r
iphone 17
I love using Omnipod. Unfortunately, the Omnipod is having a hard time connecting with the Dexcom since purchasing the new iPhone 17. All updates have been made according to instructions, but have not had a good connection in about three months which has altered my levels, especially at night time when the dexcom and omnipod are not able to talk to each other. I wish I had a better solution because it worked perfectly before I received the new phone.
Needs an update
Haven’t had any large issues. I love being able to use just my phone alone instead of needing to carry a separate controller. The only issue I’ve had is if there is a pod failure with a reference number you need to take a screen shot of the pop up message or else you will not have access to it after that for submission for a replacement. That definitely needs to be addressed since this app is managed by Omnipod and they are the ones requiring the reference number when seeking a replacement. Tech
Fewer confirmations please
I wish I could just bolus without hitting confirm AND THEN start. I already see all the data I need on the first bolus screen, the next summary screen is just redundant with the same information. As a diabetic I bolus this everyday, multiple times a day. Just have one start button please, the loading times are chipping away from my time little by little. It seems like a minor problem but using it so often, it’s a huge issue.
love it
everything is pretty great! only thing i’d love to see added is a widget for this app
Could use more
App has worked fine for me since release. It would be great if you could add more information that was more precise and clear. I would like to see each bolus I’ve done throughout the day and exactly what information I entered (such as carbs and corrections and what my blood glucose level was) for that bolus. Would workout better for individuals such as myself that don’t keep a log to help see what differences are going into the insulin amount when the carbs and corrections are the same. Helps m
Can’t transfer a pod
Get a new phone and have to waste insulin because you can’t transfer a pod. Could transfer my Dexcom connection in a snap, to be sure since you all partner with them in other way they could help with this function?
Widget
Love the app just wish they would add a widget for iPhone.
3 Negative User Reviews for Omnipod 5 App
Well…
When it works, it’s pretty good! Two major downsides: 1) This app only wants to connect to my Dexcom around 60% of the time, which gets rid of the whole automated adjustment thing
2) if your phone memory gets within 5 gb of full, the app suddenly corrupts and kills your pod. I am constantly deleting apps and photos, yet this seems unavoidable every couple months and I have to get sent new pods. This is a major tech flaw.
Updates
Need to update where you can use Libre2 sensor with the omnipod 5.
Development reducing intelligence
Unfortunately, the past two updates to the app have reduced the intelligence of the app being able to pause the insulin so now it’s far more likely that you will run high. That, coupled with the fact that it can’t auto-bolts means the control is worse now. I used to always be 95%+ in the range, but now the app wants to run higher all the time. Add an auto-bolts and perhaps an “aggressiveness” setting from 0-5 and this would be as close to a pancreas as you could get
