I recommend this app to all my friends. Only issue I’ve had with it’s paid version recently is that I turned on the “don’t get lost” function, which notifies you that you’ve spent x minutes in the app. This notification happens even if you left the app before that number of minutes has passed, which is a bug. I hope they fix soon.
Simple UX and very effective. Has been a great tool in managing procrastination and anxiety.
Nothing, and I mean zero things, has ever been as helpful for my obsessive autopilot. This so effectively interrupts my addictive actions. I don’t even notice half the time I’m just jumping between apps. I’m just zoned out and this just stops me for a second and truly makes me ask “do I want to actually use this app or am I just bored?” I’ve had it a day and know I’ve only opened instagram 8 times instead of 30. Functionally it’s so easy to use. The instructions on setting up shortcuts are cry
We’ve really enjoyed One Secano, the videos are very helpful. We’ve always wanted to learn more about programming and automation! We did have an issue with some of the apps but we will go back and review the helpful videos to see where we need to improve our programming language. Good job! 👏 thanks 🙏🏽 again, adios!👋
Taking a breath literally gives me a more centered ability to make a better long term decision of not opening Instagram
thank you thank you, it’s very helpful and appreciated
This is perfect.
Finally an app that actually keeps me off my phone. The shortcuts are easy to set up. And I love the morning count down to block apps first thing in the morning to start your day right. There’s no way to override or skip through any of the sequences. It’s perfect and so worth paying for premium!
love love loveee
Overall great app that’s simple and does what it states
AMZING APP!!!! I have saved so much time and been way more productive ever since downloading
Hefty one-time purchasing price My suggestion: make it $15 (I would definitely recommend/buy it)
Actually a really great concept. Going to try it out a bit further.
very good app, works great, but it has a problem in that it interrupts work flow when switching between apps, and the “app interval” option costs money. if this is ever fixed i will redownload instantly
the title, it's very helpful get the app
It’s crazy how often this app really makes me think twice about opening an app and scrolling endlessly. The timer forces me to consider, and often change my mind. I only wish there was an ability to add a force-close after say 20 minutes!
Simple and SO helpful and nice! A no brainer download - get this on your phone asap
This app is excellent- everything I wanted and lots more that I didn’t know I needed. The only thing I would change is that on the dashboard overview, it significantly underestimates how much time it’s saved me. One sec, you’re even better than you know!
If it worked like it was supposed to more often. Will use the block feature and then when it ends, I still can’t get into the apps because it says the block is still on. Other times it just won’t block me at all
Strange that the apps I want to limit are not available to be selected: Spotify (podcasts) Apple Podcasts, StumbleGuys (game) Seems like maybe a feature that shouldn't be too hard to code? Why not allow the user to input a custom URL scheme like "spotify://" when asked to give the one sec app an argument after running openAfterBreathingExercise()? Why can I only pick from a set of apps that can be controlled by the core functionality of the one sec app? Five stars if you make this change
This app alone cut 1 hour of my screen time!!!
I have adhd and have struggled since high school with managing my screen time and social media use. This has been the most helpful app I’ve tried!!
I’ve had One-Sec for about two months and it has been a life saver - literally. It has brought my Instagram usage down 81%. I just bought the pro version and am excited to see how it works on my other over used apps. Highly recommend!
Thanks for this amazing app
I always find myself picking up my phone just to check YouTube and “mindlessly” watching non productive videos. I like that I always have the choice to do it after but the reminder makes me more conscious every time and decide to spend my time how I want instead of YouTube deciding for me. I love how it tells me how many times I attempt to go on YouTube in the last 24 hours so I can keep track. Great thanks to those at onesec
I have long considered just throwing out my phone - as it brings more distraction and waste than worth. I was about to go with a new simple e-ink phone, but this app has saved the phone for me. I've tried so many ways to reduce instagram and uneccessary web browsing distractions and only this one has worked! Love it, thank you!
asks you to take a breath before you open an app of your choice. after the breath, asks again if you’d like to open the app. so simple, and the deep breath is nice enough to occasionally warrant opening twitter for it alone.
This app is really cool and I’m considering getting the paid version. The thing that’s currently holding me back is id like to be able to disable the shamey screen that counts how often you open an app in 24 hours. For me, that makes me feel more anxious. If that wasn’t there, I’d also be able to set this for apps that I intend to open frequently but would like to do so mindfully (think, my work email, maps before driving, etc)
15 a year isn’t bad and in 24 hours I already feel better for not doom scrolling Reddit. My fingers are also so used to opening fb even though there’s nothing there for me
This app is single handly responsible for curing my bad habits and keeping me focused on whats important. By far the best productivity option out there!
Great app! much more effective than the screen time app.
Has been such a game changer.
The only thing that has stopped my automatic addiction to opening phone apps. Great!
Probably cut down my social media use to about 10% of what it was whilst not even feeling like it. Really amazing app (I got recommended this twice in the past 3 days, I’ve got no doubt it’s going to explode!)
This app is the only method that’s ever really made a significant different in cutting down my screen time. Thank you so much ❤️
This is the only time that a time saving app has actually worked for me! The design is wonderful! One suggestion though, and this might be counterintuitive if the intention is to prevent users from being on their phone at all, but I would love a feature where, when you are blocked from using an app, you could add a list of more productive apps to choose from instead! Like when I click on instagram and get redirected to one sec, I could click a button that redirects me to audible or notion! Gre
Love the idea, has saved me time already! Small bug though, the automations don’t trigger if I open via the “Siri suggestions” widget. Do you have a workaround?
I’ve been off TikTok for about 2 months now because of this app. I was going through one of the worst phone/app addictions in my entire life. I’m still very heavily using my phone but I have moved past the endless scroll (for the most part). Highly recommend.
This is 1,000x more effective than iOS time limits on apps. Really makes you think and pause before opening distracting apps
My only complaint with this app is that it always makes scripts to block more than one app without telling you. This is a problem if you plan on using the free version. Besides this annoyance, it really does help you be more mindful before mindlessly opening Instagram.
For freeing me from Facebook and giving me hope . Seriously, apple needs to acquire this and hire you. I was thinking the breathing app could be nicer, but that’s the point, to not be pretty and to annoy me. I appreciate the purposeful thought that went into designing this app.
The focus session is not working on my iphone. my iphone is updated to the latest ios.
If the in-app stats are anything to go by then this app has drastically reduced my tendency to mindlessly open reddit. In fact it’s down by 73% over the last three months. And now I’m finding time to read books! Great app.
Pretty impressed by this app. It works and I think this kind of tech is going to grow
This works using Shortcuts, so there are a number of steps to set it up for every app. However, some very thorough instructions are provided
