So for the app is a great resource provided by PHWFF; I’m still trying to learn how to utilize it to help my fishing adventures, exciting about what will come. Thanks
This app has been great for exploring new flowing waters. The integrated gauges and launch points are super convenient. The only thing I’ve found so far that I’d like to see improved is the length of tributaries and feeder creeks. Some com up in sections and some come up with wildly inaccurate measurements. It would be cool if there was a quick way to see the river miles between two access points too. Overall it’s definitely a worthwhile app for the river angler.
This app has been just as helpful finding water to kayak and fish as it has been on what to avoid to stay safe. Loving the updates that make a great app even better as time goes by. Highly recommend.
I picked this Hobie up during the pandemic. Figuring out where to fish was the biggest issue. On water has been a game changer. Not only helping find places to fish, but when to fish them by watching the flows. Love it!!!
Enjoying the app gives information on spots and major lakes, flow rates, weather Also points of interest boat, launches, camping areas really enjoying it
This is an app that has allowed me to not only find more information out about streams and rivers nearby my area. But it also allows me to find great new streams and rivers farther away. This app allows me to scope out new rivers and better plan out my trips to be a more successful angler. I only started fishing during Covid and this app has now made me a proficient and better angler since I’ve started to use it.
OnWater is a great app that is helpful for researching/ scouting locations to fish- especially somewhere you have not been before. The data and maps are super helpful. Waterflow, public vs private land along waterways, lists and connections to local fishing/tackle shops and fishing reports all add to your ability to assess new waters. I recommend the app as a useful tool for any one who loves to fish.
Just started using this app and I love it! It tells me current conditions which helps me decide where to fish and what species to target. Totally changed the way I fish!!
The On Water App has helped me find access points to waters that I have never fished before, It also gives me river distances so I can plan my day, It keeps me from going farther than planned. The different map views are invaluable as you can go from satellite to topographical very easily. It helps you be prepared for how strenuous your outing could be, being a disabled Veteran it helps keep me safe. Some New England streams an Rivers are not listed it would nice if they were added so the search
i got this app to see public and private properties of fishing spots easily but it’s not very helpful when determining which bodies of water are private or not
The Madison chain has shore fishing at it’s finest please leave the spots you fish better then you came if you find litter pick it up it feels good looks good . Fish on ! Tight lines AARRR !!
Great App! As a lifelong fly angler I wish I had this app years ago. Knowing put ins and take outs before going is extremely helpful. I highly recommend!
Absolutely love on the water app.. it’s very intuitive to use and has all the relevant info needed for getting fishing fast
I plan all of my fishing trips starting with Onwater. It saves hours of blindly searching for fishing spots. I’ve had entire trips wasted before trying to find water access but not anymore. I love Onwater.
OnWater makes finding great fishing spots a breeze. I got access not only to a bunch of worthy hotspots already pinned in the map with info on fish types and water depth, but also weather conditions, accesibility, directions, etc. The app also has fishing tips and tricks to level up skills, offline maps which are very useful when connections are weak, and land boundaries to avoid trespassing.
I’ve used this for day hikes and multiple night camps. Great app!!
Always spot on. Love this app and the customer service. Makes DIY fly fish so much easier. Thank you for all that you contribute to the sport/hobby. Bob from the PNW

As a Disabled Paralyzed Veteran, I recently became involved in the wonderful art, science and just plain fun of fly-fishing. The On-water App is phenomenal in assisting a person to find the right location for you, fishing for what you desire and provide an enjoyable environment for you and your family to participate in. I really enjoy the opportunities that are provided and I look forward to fly fishing starting back up this year to see what new and innovative items On-water has in store.
Absolutely love having this tool at my disposal!!!

I tend only to fish for bass (largemouth), however, it can depend on the day, who I am fishing with, etc. it would be better to have the option to have multiple species instead of just one targeted species at a time. That is the reason for the low rating that I have.
There are no boat ramps on Mackinac Island, Michigan also one of the boat ramps in Cheboygan, Michigan is not a ramp but where the ferry boat moores
This app has potential to be awesome. Really its only ok. Unfortunately I paid for the subscription and did not get anything different than the free version. If open water wants some suggestions I could make it an awesome app.
