21 Positive User Reviews for Opener ‒ open links in apps
It's Perfect!
Amazing app! I would to see Steam support.
Indispensable
Quickly opens webpages on the corresponding apps. Gets around bugs where apps don't open correctly when links are clicked. Offers you a choice when you have two apps that like the same link. Used it daily for years, never had an issue.
No support
The app does not support Wall Street Journal (WSJ) app. The developer does not respond to emails.
I can’t live without it
This utility is absolutely essential for opening links how I want, in the app that I want. It gives the power back to users to make their own choices for how they want to view and engage with apps, services, websites, and content.
Great when it works
When it works, it works really well. It’s hard sometimes for the opener app to identify what app to open as it’s not as easy as it sounds. I have set up a few auto open settings and I can’t live without that now.
Missing Features
As of now, it’s just a nice-to-have app.
But it could be improved and sold. Personally, I would pay for it if the developer added a few features:
[✅]. (PiP): This way, any clicked link could automatically trigger Opener.
[✅]. In-app Search: it’s a nightmare to scroll thru the list of all apps just to find nothing.
[✅]. Filtering: based on the link, Opener could show only related apps vs. all of them. (Perhaps, making money thru affiliated links this way).
Awesome
I prefer to open multiple links/articles in browser tabs, to get to, rather than opening/viewing individual link/articles in specific app (and losing previously open links/articles).
Maybe the best and most used iOS utility on my iPhone and iPad
I can’t think of a utility I use more. It’s so freeing!
Had for Ages - Great App!
Such a hidden treasure. Everyone I’ve shown this to over the years has loved it. Even my 70 year old mom!
One feature request: a Safari extension to have similar functionality but automatically. So when clicking on a Google Maps link it opens in Apple Maps. Rather than having to go through share sheet. I’d pay an IAP for this.
Very handy app 😎👍🏻
I use this app all the time.
For example I want to force a webpage to open in safari instead of opening in the app or the opposite way, I am in YouTube for example in safari and want that video to open in the app I just tap the share arrow under the video and then select opener, then select to open in the YouTube app. When I got this app I wasn’t sure I would need it but actually I use it everyday. Thanks for this handy app 😎✌🏻
Fantastic Utility
Exceptionally great for music!
It does everything it says on the tin, giving you the control of what app you open links in. It’s the control that should frankly be built into iOS. But beyond what should just ‘be built-in,’ it’s got tons of added utility too. It saves me tons of time opening links I see online to a specific music service in my preferred streaming service! That’s a feature I couldn’t ever expect iOS to do on its own. And it does so much more.
Título
The only way I could see the picture is by looking in my phone to find it on the right hand corner and I don’t know what to look at the right side and then it will say I have a new one but it won’t say what I want it is it just says I want it on my right side but it won’t show on my left and it doesn’t say anything about the left or the left or the other one so I’m wondering why it’s there and if it was on my other one but it says something else so it’s not showing up on my other one
Invaluable for Android converts
I've been an Android user since 2008 and only just now trying out an iPhone. This app is a must have if you're used to being able to open links in an app other than what iOS thinks you should use.
I use this app all the time and it's fantastic
Really appreciate how quick and flexible the app is. Thank you!
Works beautifully in Apple shortcuts 👌🏾
I was looking for a way for urls to open directly in Instagram from an Apple shortcut and this did the trick! I set the Instagram in the Opener app to automatically open all urls in Instagram so it doesn’t have to ask me every time. I’m so happy I found this solution. 🎉
Absolutely invaluable
I use it every day without thinking about it. Those are the best kinds of apps. Wanted to leave a review to show how thankful I am
Browser Suggestion
First of all, incredible app. Does so much.
Secondly: I’d like to suggest a browser for integration. The browser is called Insight. It’s great, you can build your own extensions. Opener is great as well, hoping you can make them both better and add Insight so I can make it my default!
Thank you.
Still learning how to use it
Still learning how to use it but it seems to be much easier than it was for me before.
Fix for the biggest annoyance on ios
No brainier to purchase. I have no idea why it is not native to ios to open an app when clicking a link.
