14 Positive User Reviews for Out-Run

Like the app but crashes :(

Just lost a 2 hour run. Opened the app while it was recording and it disappeared. Going to switch back to my old running app but will revisit this one once it is more stable.

Amazing

I was looking for a privacy-friendly activity tracker, and this app is perfect! It’s very clean and elegant. Thank you for this.

just what i needed

if you care about privacy whatsoever get this and forget about all the others

Seems to crash if you do anything else

Seems to crash the app if you do anything else while tracking a workout. Several times now I’ve been on a walk and will open my phone to take a picture or use an app and when I get home to save the workout there isn’t one being tracked any more.

Almost perfect, but…

I previously gave this app a 5-star review for being an easy-to-use and privacy-respecting fitness tracker. Generally speaking, it does what it should well and with a slick interface to boot. However, I just had the app crash on me while saving the results of a 10-hour hike through the mountains. I ended up losing the recording so I was pretty bummed. Looking at other reviews, it seems this isn’t a completely one-off occurrence. So, as much as I love the app and what it stands for in the midst o

Great App!

I really enjoyed using Strava with all its capabilities and nice interface. However, the terrible thing about it is its lack of privacy. You can set your own privacy settings of course, but Strava has access to all your information. I thought, “Oh no! I’m going to lose stats, and have to go old school and log it all manually!” But Outrun has been a great replacement. Been walking and hiking so far and will add cycling in the summer. Outrun is totally privacy focused with a slick interface and it

A sane offline runtracker

OutRun is a fully offline, privacy-respecting, free run tracker on iOS. For some reason every mainstream alternative has tacked-on social media elements, requires an account, and/or shoves paid “features” in your face incessantly. OutRun has none of these anti-features, and I really appreciate that. It also has a very clean and interface, something I usually don’t expect in open source apps, and it’s very simple and easy to use. I’m using a 2016 iPhone SE running iOS 15 and have had no issues wi

EXCELLENT private running tracking!

Finally thankful to have my data to myself and myself alone. The breakdown of runs is way better than the Workouts in the Apple Activity app. However, I was looking for something to show aggregate over time. - All runs over a week, month, or all time - Show best times, pace, highest altitude gain, all time etc. Would pay for this to support app development! Thank you for making this!!

A Fitness App Not Trying to Be a Dystopian Surveillance Tool

That quality in itself warrants praise and respect. Sadly the app is missing some useful features like setting a running distance goal and notifying you when the distance is reached. Otherwise it would be a PERFECT running app!

All you need in a running app without all the data poaching!

Love it. Super simple and works as it should. Thanks!

Fantastic but…

The import from health can be kind of bad. Otherwise it’s a fantastic app, it’s clean & simple and would easily be a 5 if the imports get fixed

Good!

Good app! But recently it has crashed, lost GPS, malfunctioned. It will be better if the dev can fix it. Thanks

2 Negative User Reviews for Out-Run

Inaccurate

I like the UI and very much appreciate this approach to privacy. I wish the results were more accurate however. I took a walk that Google Maps and some city literature say is 3.5 miles. I ran two trail apps: this and one other. This reported the length as over 5 miles. The other said it was about 4 miles. Both are way off. I guess that’s just an inevitable consequence of low resolution GPS sensors in phones. But this app was off a lot more than the other.

Does not always work

Only saves my workouts half the time, so I’m deleting it. (It is very pretty).
