When these issues appear the app stops backing up files until the user interacts with the popup asking to skip or retry the file back up. No notification is given when this happens so you don’t know the back up has stalled until you open the all. There needs to be a restoration workflow.

I’ve tried many ways to have a reliable way to back up files and photos and this is it. It’s not a subscription. That in itself is very important. Don’t rely on iCloud because when a file or photo is removed on your phone it disappears on your iCloud backup. Buy this. You won’t regret it.

This back up app has immeasurably increased my confidence in the security of my data. Virtually all of my important content is either in my iCloud photos or my iCloud files. Parachute operates easily and efficiently from my new MacBook Neo to secure all of the files I use on my MacBook iPad and iPhone. I highly recommended it.

I’m a huge fan of this app. It has a few rough edges but that’s OK because its core functionality seems quite solid.

Easy to install and run. It backup photos and videos from iPad in just minutes. Future backups will only copy files not previously backed up.

I found that Parachute is just straight to the point and provides an incredible option to just Backup your photos, videos and files to Backup destination of your choice. Common destinations Like Google Drive, OneDrive and an S3 bucket or a local NAS

…you should absolutely download this app. My strategy for backing up my iOS photos and files was haphazard at best. This takes out the guess work. You should pay the Mann (get it?), spend the $4, and download the app.

Overall I think it’s a good app, but right now as someone backing up to usb at least it doesn’t tell me how big the backup will be. So hard to know how large a drive I need to attach

Nice app for performing photos backups. I had used Photosync previously and it was a lot more expensive (monthly subscription). This was a single few dollars and it works and looks great.

App is great, straight forward and easy to use. However, there are a couple of bugs I noticed. 1. The progress bar does not progress when locked or in the dynamic view, the % just stays the same unless you open the app. 2. If i close the app completely, it does not keep the last backup results.

App isn’t showing photo count or size uploaded. Always states zero even though photos are uploading.

This app WILL ALLOW you to define a custom endpoint for an S3 bucket to backup to. I didn’t see that mentioned in the description, and it was the most important feature for me. Apple family purchase sharing also works with this app so you only need to buy it once for the whole family. And beyond that it backups up real conveniently just like the description states. It’s a good app but has some issues likely due to how iOS handles background tasks. But iOS 26.1 will likely have support for third party background photo backup. Pls developers keep it up to date!

Any chances to add cellular backup support?

When the app works(which takes multiple attempts and hours to do) it does what it’s supposed to do . Annoyingly it backs up randomly when connected to power and once the app has run even partially, I have to hard reset my phone because the speaker crack and pop.

The app itself works great. Love it. You can automate it and it does unattended backups on the IPad. On the IPhone 17 Pro, it will not run on automation shortcut. You have to go in and deselect the back up destination which defeats the purpose of automation. I would give it 5 stars if I did not have to go back in every time and respect destination location and hit the play button.

I have a large iCloud photo and video library of about 250 gigs and I am backing up to a Ubiquiti UNAS Pro. Unfortunately after a couple of weeks of trying, I ran into several errors and cases where the backup had to start over again. In addition, the app running all the time was causing my phone to become super slow, I had to uninstall it. I did get an initial response from the developer, but haven’t heard back in awhile. I’ll try again in a few months.

Constantly freezing when running backups. Requires several tries to back up my entire photo library (about 100 GB). Getting random notifications when I’m not even using the app. Needs an option to allow simple mirroring of iCloud Photos (as I don’t always want to back up photos that I’ve deleted from my phone).
