This app is a very handy app to create motifs or help you get ideas to develop later. I was a bit confused with some of the options for editing in the arrangement section - I emailed the developer and he responded in an hour with detailed info that helped solve the problem. Exceeded expectations.

I paid the extra for it but feel like it was a bit of a bait and switch as no other app paywalls auv3 functionality.

Cool app but without any visual que as to what it’s doing, it doesn’t achieve its potential

Much has been said already in these reviews. The app description says it all, but when you try it yourself you’ll be amazed at it’s depth and awesome versatility. It’s a generative app, but allows a tremendous amount of optional input to shape the results of it’s output. A true interactive musical companion that can point the way and also let you lead the way into creative horizons. Highly recommended for all current and aspiring musicians.

Lifesaver for someone like me that is allergic to music theory. Opens up a whole new world of fun. Fantastic app for all levels!

I like this app. It makes it easy to generate midi notes for piano roll patterns and use them for different auv3 synthesizer instruments if you unlock all features it makes it easier to run with midi connectivity in AUM. This is one of my favorite audio production tools I’ve found useful. Definitely a good app.

Can we please get native Garage Band support! I'm reducing my rating because I requested that over a year ago and no response from the developer. Yes I know that Garage Band doesn't support MIDI only but it's absolutely needed as the suggested (by the developer) work arounds DON'T WORK!

This app is too much fun. I can spend hours going down the rabbit hole creating new melodies. Thank you!

Deep as you want to go with it, and the dev’s update schedule should serve as a model for the industry. Money WELL spent.

Edited review: I bought the app. I didn’t realize there were iap purchases to unlock important features. Now, that I have played around with the app I think the IAPs were well worth it. The app is very versatile and allows you a lot of control over generative composition. It’s a great starter when your trying to create a sound track or song. A solid app and does exactly what it advertises very well.

Seriously one of the only serious, and useable melody generators out there. Easy to get good results fast, but if you know just a little about music you can get beautiful stuff out of it. Also uncommonly good support. Well worth your money.

I’m not really a piano player but can sure get some gold out of this app. Watch the tutorials and learn the countless features included, you can do more that you might expect. I also appreciate the regular updates throughout the years, this app has really grown into something wonderful!

Finally an motif generator that actually sounds like music. Super easy to get started — just hit play — buts lots of customization if you want. A superb tool for composers and song writers of all genres. Kudos to the dev!

I am trying to use this app as a MIDI generator in AUM. I am asked to restore my purchases multiple times, little frustrating. It works for about 1-2 minutes, and then goes silent. Huge potential, please fix

But even as is, it provides hours and hours of usable material. Oh, one more wish - ability to add greater variety of sections into an arrangement. And the ability to control volume for each channel.

But it's not showing up as an AUM in Garage Band even though I've purchased this feature.

This is an amazing app with an even more amazing dev. The parts the app generates are incredibly musical and usable. I often generate motifs, export and edit in a MIDI sequencer, then use that to play whatever other app in AUM, etc. Shockingly good, really. And to top it all off, the dev is super responsive and updates the app with great new features all the time. No better app on iOS.

Firstly, I really enjoy this app. I really like exploring generative apps like this. I especially love sampling the sounds generated from them. Piano Motifs adds to that creative process by generating ideas I would not have discovered myself. I also find myself learning new chord progressions. I would like to have a way to adjust the velocity per note. This would give a bit more of a human feel.

This app is amazing. It needs midi sync or Ableton link though. I’d gladly pay for it if it were an iap. Better yet would be if it were an audio unit then it would sync to a host automatically. Seriously this app is worth way more than it costs.

I enjoy the program… This is a note to the developer; is there a way to set random note velocity? Or create rules for velocity settings like random clumping or certain notes are loud I don’t know something like that… That would get you five stars the sixth star would be four doing kind of an intro and outro???… See my YouTube entitled;Motifelia……

Love the AUv3 update but I would love to have an override to the tempo sync to half and quarter time. High to low velocity range option and chord changes down to the quarter beat would also be nice to have.

This app is the perfect tool for film composers and producers on tight deadlines, or when you’re just in need of ideas. Comes loaded with customization options to get the exact feel you’re looking for. It’s incredibly easy to use and the sound quality is great. Piano Motifs has a very flexible audio and MIDI export that will allow you to use your new creations in virtually any professional DAW of choice and on any instrument. Brilliant!

This is a Fantastic App! I use this repeatedly with Navichord and Chord AI. Would be Great to have a dedicated volume button (where is it?) to reduce the intensity of the chord progressions and Melody. Feels like the pianists is playing too hard at times. Something similar to the volume control in the Navichord app under settings-audio-instruments. Just Love this App!

This has always been one of the top generative/ai/algorithmic music apps on the store, but the new UI revamp just took it over the top and straight to #1. If you have any interest in music on the iOS environment then you MUST get this app.

This is a unique way of breaking writer’s block. Absolutely beautiful and effortless. Put Ableton Link in and I’ll give it six stars!
