Anyone who regularly photographs fungi should purchase this app. It has the most accuracy but you do need to use clear photos and submit top and bottom of fungi if it has a bottom side. It’s been well worth it and I like to see My History of what I’ve taken. I’ve also enjoyed learning about ones that I’ve captured.

I had a budding interest in mycology. After finding this app, I’ve been able to identify mushrooms to a degree and then further cement my ID using things like spore prints and sharing with others. What an amazing resource!

Apparently the mushroom I wanted to know more about is high toxicity. Good to know as my grandkids and dogs are out in the area where they are growing a lot.

I love this app it’s helpful.

I appreciate Picture Mushroom very much. It instantly tells me what I’m looking at. Then I can look up if I want to touch it or not. True it’s just basic information but it is an identification immediately. I also use its sister company Picture This to identify all the other plants in insects, etc.

This s a great learning and thinking tool! But, the recent location tag on the pics is not very accurate! It has pics found on my property intermittently tagged with my neighbors. The location pin picture on the wrong address is my property!!! Please fix this error!

So as a amature mycologist anything pretaining to Mycology even this app is interesting to me. I would be inclined to raise my review IF the creators were more hands on. I mean theres a option for the general public to submit suggestions and I had seen a couple things that i believe was worthy of at least acknowledging and to date Ive heard nothing and no changes or information added.

I like it. Wish it was free.

As a member of the San Francisco Mycological Society for 30 years, I was surprised at the accuracy usefulness of this app! I’ve been using Picture Mushroom app for two years, and so far it’s been 100% correct! While I always double check the ID with Mushrooms Demystified, by David Aurora (the definitive mushroom identification book), I am happy to have this app in my tool kit and use it often!

Love this app! I run into a lot of mushrooms and while out doing farm and forestry work and it’s really fun to collect all the different types in my gallery

This app is great at identifying mushrooms, fungus, and litchens! I love this app and I like when I get a new fungus, I also learn about it. This is the best mushroom app I found.

It requires an internet connection, and an not sure if photos used can be stored until one has a connection. I’m able to view the main “side” photo, but can’t find top and bottom photos. Would be nice if photos could be exported. It gets quite a few completely wrong.

I live in Florida and see a lot of mushrooms. I’m very curious what they are and if they have special properties. Mushroom ID helps to identify them.

There really needs to be an option to say the location the mushroom was found ie. country and state the mushroom was located to more accurately identify it.

Do you upload + analyze geo-coordinates of photos? Because many matches of mushrooms I found in Switzerland are showing as found in North America. Also, not clear how to make corrections to IDs — maybe add function to add more photos at a later date? But great app. Very useful. Thank you.

This is the best thing ever , it really helps me identify the mushrooms I find , I will say I was not sure in the beginning but wow I was so surprised about how good this works !

This app is an amazing first cut. You should still consult a good mycology text for final identification before putting a mushroom in your body.

I’m done with this app. More often than not it shows “poor connection” regardless of my cellular strength in a location. Then just saw on Reddit that they share your photos. DONE. Was getting mostly correct ID’s, when it works, but not always. I ALWAYS further research any result anyway. Especially for edibles.
