PlayTally: Apple Music Stats App Reviews

I was originally complaining about inaccurate counts, but the developer responded and told me what to do to fix it! I have zero complaints now and I love this app. 😛😛

love playtally but syncing is so slow :(

PlayTally has been a great app to view my music stats and I’ve loved it every since I got it. The only problem I have with it is that sometimes it will count a song twice (says that it’s been played in the same minute) and it will do this for every stream that happened in a day. Sometimes it doesn’t happen but most of the time it does and I have to manually remove streams to make it more accurate. Would be great if you made it so it would auto-remove a double stream for a song that says it been

Great app but the data is inaccurate most of the time. The first time an album is played, the songs aren’t counted. When a song is on repeat, sometimes the app doesn’t count all of the plays. I’ve also run into the app not counting songs in my playlist. I’m not quite sure how to get around these bugs and/or inaccuracies.

edit: do you remember on the trending tab there was a button on the right below the calendar that said ‘rank’? it was to the right of the artist, albums, or genres button. and there was an option to make the songs trend by like a mix of play count, time listened, skip count, etc. i just thought it was really cool and unique to rank the songs more diversely but i think it went away in a recent update. i don’t know if you could bring this back or not but it would be really cool if you could i real

Only complaint is that it doesn’t accurately count the number of songs played, it shows it in the catalog but doesn’t count it, so it’s a little off

Makes it so easy to track listening history, over any time period which is nice. Great insights into how you listen. But sometimes it glitches and says you listened to a random song 200 times. Which can mess things up.

Is this app still getting updates? Syncing has been slow, and album covers for a large portion of my library no longer have artwork. A couple year back when I first started using the app is was the best option in the App Store. I wish the developer would charge a fee to use it so there was more incentive to keep it running bug free and more frequent updates to address issues. With that said, it’s still a top notch app which is why I gave it 4 stars.

Can you add the ability to keep all plays by default to not have to select that option when opening the app? Thank you

It really helps me see my music and I really love comparing my time listening to my friends. Although it sometimes counts to much music but overall it’s probably the best apple music tracker app.

I tried quite a few free apps and they usually make you buy “premium” to do anything anyways and a couple paid apps. This app is incredible for tracking and viewing how many minutes you listened to certain artists in the year and much more. If you’re searching for Apple Music tracking just buy this you won’t regret it.

I love that this app is more accurate than Apple Music. Lately my total play count is not matching up with how many songs I’m actually playing. In the current month I’ve listened to 2k songs when I add up the daily amounts but the total is only showing 1.6k

As title says. This developer has all the Apple Music good you’d need. Give his apps a shot!

i got this yesterday, i really love it so far. the only problem i have is that it sometimes crashes randomly, other than that, its really good. 😁

would love to see albums in the trending tab ! still a 10/10 app

This app has a mind of its own and selectively updates. Sometimes it correctly gets my music plays from other devices (yes all have sync library on) other times collects no data besides music plays on the install device… worked for about 2 weeks and stopped all together.

i don’t know how…. i saw that i can import playback history will that work? please help me

without having to … and merge its plays with another listing. can you make it so that or any song i select to have it happen to, all automatically scrobble under the selected listing or listing i select it to happen under

Since you updated it, the last played data is not showing completely and accurately

Great app, wish it tracked album plays in the trending section though. That way you could view your most played albums for the week or month.

Love the idea and the potential behind this app, but it’s average at best. Regularly misses plays and skews data. Definitely some bugs that need to be worked out here.

I love this app! It works so nice yet whenever I use my Apple Music account with my new home pod it won’t track anything :( and I’m bummed cus I don’t want my stats to be off. So if you could fix that then it would be a 5/5!!!

Hey man. I love the app but it’s been slower than it was

I’ve been using this app for about a year now, and I’m sad to say it doesn’t work very well. It only makes note of maybe half to two thirds of the songs I listen to, especially if they’re songs on repeat. It also continues to ask me pretty regularly about a song that it detected an “unusually high” number of playbacks for—an occurrence from one day last summer. Overall it just isn’t a very reliable way to keep track, sadly.
