Polar Scope Align Pro App Reviews

As for a 5 year review of the virtual polar alignment, I have had a better experience. My mount is the EM-11 temma 3 Takahashi and I suspect it has an aluminum body. Even that compass was deflected by the mount proxy, however I attach my iPhone to the mount body and aligned it as programmed. I spot the moon which is obviously the largest celestial object (30” arc minutes) and the mount sat still for 30 minutes perfectly on target without drifting at a magnification 75 times

What I thought was just ok at first. This app has now become a standard for amateur astronomers. All the information that is needed is in this app and the pro version os worth the money.

I got this app for the real time polar alignment scope reticle simulation. That’s the main feature, but I find myself using this app for planning my observations with the deep sky and solar system object database or leveling mounts even when I don’t need a polar alignment. It has tons of extra info and features beyond the polar alignment scope! I also appreciate that the pro version is a one time fee and not a subscription. Thank you! Great app and interface

I have been using this app for three years now. The pro version I am really impressed with its accuracy. You can’t go wrong one of the best apps for astrophotography ever created.

Loads of useful features, especially under the DSO menu, extensive catalog database (Messier, Caldwell, Herschel, NGC, IC, etc). The “PUSH TO: feature using a red BULL’S EYE together with direction arrows serves very well as a finder. The “SYNCH TO TARGET” option fine tunes the finder function. Thanks for the great app.

The Pro version has so many tools, tutorials, and calculators as to be helpful in any situation.

Every useful amateur astronomer feature in one app. Super intuitive and no distractions. Polar alignment, Goto with just your phone on top of your scope (Push To), object list sorted by what you care about (magnitude, angular size, etc), all the important astronomy calculations at your fingertips, etc. Just brilliant!

This app is absolutely fantastic. The bubble level will help you get your amount perfectly level. The compass will help you point your amount to celestial North. The daytime alignment puts this app on a different level. And finally, when pointing whether you’re in the northern hemisphere with the southern hemisphere, getting poor aligned as simple and accurate! I don’t bother with my polar camera anymore. This is all I need.

This is a fantastic app. I use it every imaging session to polar align my SkyGuider Pro. It is super easy to use.

I am heading to Australia for the solar eclipse, and thought it did not work in the southern hemisphere… if you are actually in the southern hemisphere it works! Great tool for daytime alignment watching a total solar eclipse

No waste. No bells and whistles that you don’t need. Just pin-point accuracy with details to help you align your polar axis and gaze or shoot away!

I used this app every time

I purchased the pro version. Well worth the price and more. I am amazed at all the details incorporated into this app. I don't have an iphone so I'm using my ipad gen 4. Not a big iphone fan. If an android version comes out, I'll get it. That being said I am happy and surprised that this app is compatible with my older ipad but grateful. Overall, great app and very useful. Thanks! GL

Some features are good. Daytime polar slight does not work. Way off and the should just drop that portion of the app. I wish it worked better. Was really looking for something to get a daytime alignment. Better off with a compass. The flashlight works good! Uh, the rest of the features really aren’t precise enough to use.

I’m a new user of this great app. I own the Sky Watcher Star Adventurer 2i mount with built in wifi. It seems your app doesn’t support the Star Adventurer’s polar scope.

This is an excellent well thought out utility with needed services all in one place. It always works smoothly and is very logical. Very ingenious collection of necessities.

This is the best or one of the best tool apps for astrophotography.

Love the daytime alignment feature. Polaris is not visible from one of my favorite sites for viewing south...blocked by trees. After mounting the iPad to the mount via a dovetail bracket, this app allows enough alignment for visual GoTo observing.

This app is about as much information that you could want or use .. I use a German Equatorial mount and also a go to mount on different telescope. I can use all the information I need to set up and operate my telescopes. Great app. Dr. Dave

Even if you use another method to polar align your scope, this is an awesome app to have. The night-vision red default is perfect, the screens are easy to read and practically organized, and the additional info displayed is great.

By far the best app in class for what it does. My astrophotography is helped by this app and I'd gladly buy again. For anyone using RAPAS, I highly recommend: polar alignment is done well before astronomical twilight and in less than 5min.

So many features. Just for the core function it is a “must-have” in my opinion. Add so many features and it’s that much more valuable.
