I can’t say enough good about Portal. I recently found the Mac app but I’ve been an avid user of the iPhone app for years. The app itself is gorgeous and feels so natural to use. The sound scapes are deep and varied, and they all tie in to Apple’s Spatial Audio system. Portal is an integral part of my daily life and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without it.

Portal is by far the best focus/immersion app I’ve come across. As much as I search for an alternative, nothing else offers the same high-levels of quality and functionality. I will using Portal for a looong time.

For those productivity types where work requires you to be on your computer all day everyday; the tranquil breaks this provides to me are a life saver.

Best app ever for sleep

Nic and relaxing sometimes it looks like you can go rite thro the screen into a paradise I just love it altho its very pricey to get a member ship or buy but its still won of my favorite app’s

This app helps me set a calming and focused vibe during my sessions. Love being in Iceland via my Portal.

This app is so nice on my Mac. It’s become an integral part of my study setup. As a student, I’d recommend this app to anyone with a Mac. The Spatial Audio is awesome with AirPods, especially with dynamic head tracking.

Wellness fundamentals. Sound quality akin to someone holding your hand as you escape into nature. Navigation that takes the where’s and the how’s out of the menu. Seamless, lucid sensations.

One of my favorite apps. They have been so kind to me...great, honest, and a pursuit of excellence!

Second-to-none visuals and very realistic audio!

I use the Portal app to focus on to relax. It helps me get through my day some days. Especially if I’m really stressed for work.

Don’t expect it to change my life, but it’s definitely higher quality than most nature sounds apps.

This app is great the entire time last car ride I was calm all thanks to this app

Okay this is beautiful. It feels like your really in the places. It’s perfect to just listen and enjoy. You can really escape and close your eyes. Imagine you are there with the wind, grass. It’s awesome

Seems silly to pay for an app when I can go on YouTube and watch virtually the same thing for free

There are many apps that do similar things to this app but none do it better than Portal and it’s just that simple 🤷‍♂️

Cool app love the presentation, but way too expensive. Spotify and YouTube are considerably cheaper alternatives (or even free). I looked the company up, they got $5m in seed funding in 2022 their shift from a one time purchase to subscription model was probably at the behest of their VC overlords. Or maybe they’re just greedy, neither option makes me want to give them a cent. Apps ain’t cheap and I love the sound quality, spatial audio integration and HomeKit integration but not at the current

This app is very essential to my life now!

This app is perfect! Especially when I can play music of my choice. I just wish the dynamic sound worked with my Bose headsets and Beats Flex earpiece.

5 minutes before work I use focus mode and watch waves crash with my noise canceling headphones. It really locks me into the scene. On cold days I like to double down with a snowy scene where the wind and Dali g snowflakes are audible. At bedtime I like the American Heartland thunderstorm, solemn yet powerful. I really do love this app and I cannot say enough great things about it. I use it when I’m trying to focus on planning my busy work month out, and I use it in the evenings to decompress& relax, and I also use it in the morning to wake up to. Not only does it create an entire experience of sounds it adds a great touch by syncing with my hue lights if I wish it to. I highly recommend this app, if you are on the fence, hop off and give this app a try, you won’t be disappointed!!

Love relaxing to the app. I play it over AirPlay to my HomePod (original model) stereo pair in the living room. Wish it had a version for Apple TV / tvOS so I could see the visuals on the big screen. Am excited for the macOS version. Keep up the great work!

The app is great. The pricing is…not. For a non-essential app the price is too high.

I bought this app when it came out, I have used this almost every day at work… been a couple years now. The new portals are absolutely amazing. Overlay some music on top of the portals and you’re in for a great time. Amazing work Devs. Thank you for this wonderful app!

I jus recently found this app. I am hooked and it’s absolutely everything you desire and need in your life! Even the free version gives you far more than any other app out here! When I got this app I thought you would be able to hear your footsteps on the dirt paths, hear the birds chirping above you, and look up and see the glorious peeks of Rocky Mountain National Park, but it’s not like that at all. I said before that you want to hear the birds, which I did, but the footsteps weren’t in there, the rocky, beautiful experience of the mountains wasn’t in there, I guess I might be expecting too much, but if you want something immersive and you want to basically go on a v

I really enjoy the app and the soundscapes. Feels very inviting. This is arguably the best actively supported app available for spatial audio soundscapes. Some of the earlier recordings sound muffled (especially water scenes) but with each new release the quality of the audio recordings and capturing techniques increases. Please continue to bring in new high fidelity content.

The app itself is quite good. I wouldn’t mind paying a one-time fee of $10 or $15. But I just can’t get on board with a subscription, and a pricey subscription. All the best.

This is the best app I have ever had it is better than anything else on the App Store but I just have one complaint can you please add more non pay experiences as far as I know there is only 5 and they get old after a few days so please add more free experiences

I love this app so much, but I’d really like a more immersive sound experience through more capable speakers than headphones. I’d really appreciate support for an Apple TV app. Otherwise, this app is solid and great to have on while I work.

I’ve had this app for 2 years now. I got a little badge from having it from back then. I use it all the time when I head to bed the sounds of storms, streams, a fireplace, etc. it helps keep me relaxed. One thing I know is like to see in the future is a sound with thunder that is a little louder if possible. Amazing app I love it, can’t wait to see the future sounds.

The imagery and audio are fun, but I’m taking 3 stars off due to an annoying Portal app requirement to log into the App store at every launch of the Portal app to verify a paid subscription. Restore of a subscription must only be done once in a subscription period! Kindly correct the defect and I’ll revisit my review. Top 3 annoyances: 1) the regular subscription prices for monthly, yearly, and lifetime are far too high; 2) the Portal app needs internet connection to run; 3) the Portal app can’t

App and content haven’t been updated in a year. It feels like they are just extracting subscription fees at this point. I have no problem paying regular fees for regular updates but this feels like a scam. If they had regular content updates my rating would be higher.
