I have used Purify for years and it just silently did its job and didn’t harass me for so long I just figured it was deprecated and obsolete. I decided to delete Purify and within a week I realized how irritating the internet has become. The internet without a ad blocker reminds me of the 90’s all over again. Bloated, frustrating and borderline unusable. I installed Purify again a few days ago to protect my sanity and I’m astonished how much it helps the internet be tolerable.
been using for years works great for me
I’m a little surprised Apple never acquired this, because Purify fulfills the Apple promise “it just works”. The exception to that being, it doesn’t seem to apply to in-app browsing outside of the Safari app proper. It would be nice if it did that, too, but I don’t know if that’s even possible. (Would love it to work in the Voice Aloud Reader app if it is!)
Essentially I just bought the app and I am not able to enable it on my device. Upon further investigation...the tutorial video is out of date. In 16.4.1 you have to go the Safari extension settings to enable. Well see how it goes from here.
The app has not been update in some time and no longer functions as expected. Obsolete.
It’s just that simple...
My biggest gripe: a large persistent notification on the screen asking for a reload after white listing a website. The Purify notification “Your Purify preferences for this site have changed. Reload to see them take effect!” is covering 1/8 of the screen and highly distracting. Please minimize.
After all this time it still works quietly in the background.
I’ve been using Purify since ad blocking was added to Safari. This app used to work great. Unfortunately, it’s clear that it hasn’t been updated in years. It needs it. It’s not as good at blocking ads as it used to be. It seems to do a particularly poor job of blocking intrusive pop-ups as well. Most annoyingly, it breaks a lot more web sites than it used to. I give it 3 stars because it still blocks a lot of ads. But it desperately needs optimizing after years of no updates.
My go to ad blocker since its release. It just works.
I had an iPhone stolen from me thirteen years ago.
It’s been three years since the last update.
I’ve used Purity for years and think it is the best! Thank you so much to those who make it possible.
Websites continue to request I turn it off so it must be working.
Adds? What adds?! Lol it works great. Super worth the price.

I’ve been using Purify since iOS allowed content blockers into Safari. It’s always been my favorite. I’ve tried several, and they all have their pluses, but Purify is simple and elegant and most importantly, effective.
Love it! This app gives me a add free internet experience.
This app never gets a update,it’s probably like way past due for one
It works so well that I forget I have it. Then wonder why people are struggling with pop ups on their phones. This is an app well done.
I don’t see the Purify menu in Safari in iOS 14.2. Purify is enabled and lets me edit the URL whiteish when I open the app, but the Purify Safari action disappeared.
Have to compare with any new ones but this is known to process fast and it works
It really speed up browsing and stop annoying ads that are a waste of time. Thank you for this!! Update: still the best blocker.
Just bought Purify and although I see fewer ads, I’m still getting them.
Is this app still maintained by the dev?
Purify's performance has dropped and I notice that it has not received any updates in a year. That is usually a bad sign and an indicator the developer is abandoning the app or dealing with bigger challenges.
Works well, but is too easily detected on many websites, particularly the news sites. Websites that detect ad blocking don’t allow you to browse them. Need a better ad blocker.
What the heck happened? I’ve had Purify on my phone for two years and it worked. But now it’s not working. Ads pop up on random sites and work on other sites. Someone update this thing!
Easy to use and works better than most content blockers.
I like to block ads on web browsers as some ads are deemed inappropriate with obscene results.
But on youtube lately videos that start with adds justmreceive an error =( i think thats more on youtubes side of things though.
This cannot still be optimized without a update for this long. Appreciate the original product, but would like to know why it’s not been supported.
Really helps clear up some of those click bait sites. It does a nice job. Easy to whitelist a site you like.
Y u themtee feed red Ethan was the e cv jfs
Noticed the same ads as before. No difference. Yt still gets ads. Im still seeing ads browsing... smh. Paid for nothing
Frees me from the raunchy adds that pop up on safari. Well done! Wellllll done!
needs much more user control and info. you cannot tell what is being blocked
4 Negative User Reviews for Purify: Block Ads and Tracking
It’s so hard to whitelist sites
Purify is not always enabled until I click on the app icon.
The app hasn’t been updated in over two years and doesn’t work reliably anymore. Don’t pay for this.
The developer appears to have abandoned this app. No updates for 2 years and ad blocking is not working as well as it used to. Time to move on.
