Good Players But No Love For Drums
Great start but needs options to insert trading 4s, 8s, etc. I’ve seen other requests for tags, which is also a good idea.
Pry this app from my cold dead fingers
A great advance in play-along apps for practicing jazz. Combines the key advantages of Aebersold tracks (played by actual living musicians) and iRealPro (control over the tempo, key, and mix). Sounds great — good enough for live performance (a busker’s dream!).
I have some misgivings about the interface and wrote a LONG email to the developers — I received a VERY detailed reply that gives me confidence that this great, great app is soon to improve even more.
Finally !
Way better than IReal B as far as sound quality. These tracks are good enough to actually just listen to. Really well done ! Best of its kind !
Fantastic app
I just wish it wouldn’t force my phone into landscape mode.
Great app - wish tempo changes were easier
Overall great app. One annoying feature - having to change tempos one number at a time. Would love a feature where you could type in a tempo or scroll quickly through speedups/slowdowns. Now it takes 50 clicks to go from 150 to 200 bpm! Otherwise, a wonderful app and a great tool for learning jazz.
Please Dark Mode
Nice app , great job guys , excellent selection of jazz standards. BUT please make a Dark mode option for us that get blinded with that glaring white screen ;)
Cool but horrible UI
The idea and backing tunes are awesome. But the UI is so bad it makes this whole app almost unusable and makes me prefer the midi iReal. Changing to tempo is a total pain because the markings are so small and it only changes one tempo point at a time.
Then there’s the matter of finding songs. The font colors are poorly chosen so it’s hard to read what you’ve typed out.
Also having all the tunes spread out over four apps is so messy.
Cool backing tunes but they should’ve had someone spend j
GREAT APP
Great play along app with good time feel. Using it for live performance.
Good app but
Good instrumentalists and fun to play with but …
For an unknown reason all my edits, ie: key changes, metronome changes and instruments selections were wiped out. Also on Gentle Rain I can’t put it into A minor which is how I play it and it used to be in Quartet as A minor. Haven’t had a chance to check everything else out.
Attenuate!
Nice tracks, but wish I could lower the output vol in the app. Like set a max limit.
Great to jam with but..
This is the same quality you would expect from this development team. There other apps are just as good. I would ask that the developers implement real Jazz Guitar chords instead of basic chords. It’s just not as fun following along to just basic chords.
Implement real Jazz Guitar Chords and this will be the only app anyone will need!
Very different from this developer
I own 10 Session Band apps. This is quite a departure from them. Noticeably lacking is an instrument mixer and that’s the main reason for the rating. I also don’t understand the “ In The Style Of” qualifier. Is the developer concerned about copyright infringement? I also have iReal Pro and it doesn’t qualify any tune. Also wondering why there isn’t a midi out function. I suggest future versions address my concerns. I’d gladly pay a nominal fee for a mixer and midi out.
Big congrats from Chris Standring!
I have been jamming to your new quartet app all afternoon and it is absolutely phenomenal. I’m always looking for super high quality ready made backing tracks. These are so good I felt like I was in the room playing live with a band. I have to say this is hands down the best I have heard. Real players playing together, and so musically too. The brilliance is the ability to select a different key to any song and set the tempo too. All these songs are must-know titles from the jazz repertoire and
One serious problem
This would be a five star APP were it not for one issue-the turnarounds in some tunes. Listen to All The Things You are for example. Between looped choruses, the piano player fails to play either a 5 chord or a 2 5 that brings you to the next chorus. This is an unfortunate defect that occurs on the number of tunes. This is a truly unfortunate and ruins would be would be always perfect rhythm section performances. What would also be nice would be the ability to control the volume of each instrume
