Great app, missing major feature
The missing ability to use this app in CarPlay is holding back this app. Went to the Blue Ridge Mountains this weekend and would have loved to use Roads to find some hidden treasures .. but it’s too hard without CarPlay.
We know it’s coming in an update .. but would love to get an actual ETA on it!!
What an app
I’ve been looking for something like this all my life as a driving enthusiast. Something that finds those fun, windy, “roads less taken”. With the new update + CarPlay support, I gotta say—hats off to the team on this one.
Missing ferry connections
Great app, but planning trips with several short ferry connections along the Norwegian fjords is not supported. Please fix 🙏
Good
Very nice job Porsche
Unnecessary animation
The app has unnecessary opening animation that just takes too long. I just want to tap open the app and go. Also wish it could integrate with google maps or apple maps
Great experience
Just got my first manual car, a Scion FR-S, and this app has been perfect for finding fun routes to practice and enjoy driving. Works great, and the latest update fixed a lot of the old issues mentioned in reviews
Great potential! Almost there.
The app itself works quite well, the development team has clearly fixed a lot of the initial issues of the app which is much appreciated. I love meeting up with friends and going on scenic drives near me. Something I noticed which would be a great improvement is upgrading how we create and manage routes created. Right now I can only figure out how to create one tour at a time? There isn’t a clear way to create a blank tour that I can add more routes. To me, routes and tours is a fun way to set u
Nice app
I love the idea. A little buggy. How is there still not an Android app?
Very cool
Uses your location to give you rides near your area. It has a cool preplay function where you can actually see the route traced out on a map from a semi satellite style view before you take it, very cool.
Trying to find a route now to take, will report back after I’ve given it its trial run.
Good could be great
The current version (3.2.161) still has trouble rerouting if you miss part of a route or don’t pass through the start point. Another feature that would be great to have is an easy option to drive a route in reverse.
Edit: Rerouting is still broken in 3.2.244 and even worse now it it wants to route detours through parking lots and adjacent driveways. After trying to use it again I ended up needing to switch to a different nav app 1/4 of the way through a 300 mi drive so I’m deleting a star from
5 Negative User Reviews for Roads by Porsche
Not user friendly
This app is very confusing much like most tech from PCA…not user-friendly whatsoever and not intuitive
Can't seem to get back on route
Routinely the GPS seems to completely drop and roads loses track of where I am. More than once I'd be coming up to an intersection and realize that roads had just stopped paying attention to where I was. So I'd go through the intersection, get pulled over, then the route on roads would show me some place that I was supposed to turn a while back, but doesn't give me the directions to get back to where the turn is... What is up with that? Every other navigation app redirects you when you get of
Hard to use
The auto generated roads work perfect but if you try to jot down your own route the thing messes it up frequently. ETA functions don’t work either.
Good concept but not functional enough to execute
I really like the idea of what the app is. I like that it can generate routes to give you a new experience. But like other reviews, it doesn’t allow for deviations from the route if you want to take in the scenic aspects of your route. My biggest frustration is that you can’t change/inverse the direction of your route when you generate it. Even when choosing a starting point, what if I want to start going straight but the app makes me do a U-turn instead. It’s things like this that makes me fru
Needs work
Please bring back the map function to explore other area’s routes. The auto generated routes are cool but the real gem of this app was giving the users the ability to record their own route and share it with their friends/local backroad enthusiasts. If I could go back to the previous rendition of the app i would in a heartbeat, this new version is not user friendly
