11 Positive User Reviews for Rome2Rio: Trip Planner
Amazing transportation app - one suggestion
I’ve used Rio when in large cities to navigate public transportation (New York & Paris so far), and have not needed to reference the public transportation maps.
Only suggestion - I have been hesitant to get on a bus on the street not knowing if they require exact change, or, can I use a credit card? Especially when I don’t speak the language. The app is fabulous already, but adding payment type would really assist ease-of-use for those of us not wanting to possibly make an embarrassing scene
Great but date chart is off
Traveling to Spain in May and was checking out some different travel options and when I went to choose a date, for example, May 27, 2023 it would populate June 27,2023. But when I choose April 27, 2023, then it populated May 27, 2023. It’s a month ahead.
Lifesaver in Italy
Helped me find the best means of travel, train schedules and even the ability to buy tickets. Highly recommend
Knows most all schedules
Impressed it knows much of the bus and ferry schedules but not all options are provided. It leaves out toll bridge costs in the estimate for driving around or the multiple options for walking on a ferry / taking a car on the ferry, so only one option is available on the other side: the bus route and not driving. There are also various different ferries to take and those options aren't given for comparison, either because it is inefficient or unknown; I don’t know.
I recommend this to EVERYONE
Just want to say thanks to the devs for this one. I’ve been using this app since 2015 when a random traveler at a hostel in Türkiye showed me. I can’t recall how much money it has saved me, but it’s surely in the thousands. But the biggest thing it saves is TIME. 3-4 clicks to easily get an electronic ticket into my wallet for a train/bus/plane anywhere.
If you are traveling anywhere outside the US (does work in US, but really gets to work crossing borders) this is a must have. You will not be
Travel must-have
This was a life-saver for our trip to Europe. I would not have been able to figure out the train system without this app!
Good tool BUT
I like the ap, but when planning travel in Italy the routes between small town are better researched in train apps. Rome to Rio gave routes requiring 6 stops when there were different routings with only 2 train changes. So, yes good for big picture planning but do yourself & look further once you have your framework.
This app is amazing
It’s made traveling around the world so much easier. I can’t even find an app that does something similar : give you all possible routes, with precisely the right train, buses or boat names to navigate your way through a random country
Essential Travel App
This app (and website) have been so useful! I’ve been using R2R for many years with never a problem, error in timetables, or anything but the most helpful information possible, with choices laid out in a quickly accessed, logical format. Superb.
Get This App
Been using this app mainly when I travel for at least 3 years. Have used it in Paris, London, the Big Island(HI) and NYC and it has taken me where I needed to be. Also, very useful in pre planning your adventures as it gives you an approximate time of travel.
Ap no where bear as good as the desktop version.
I do love the desktop version. We primarily use it to plan trips as a multi destination planner. The phone ap is good for point to point navigation but not for lengthy trip planning. The day they allow you to login to view and edit your aves trip itineraries is the day the ap will become invaluable to seasoned travelers and worthy of 5 stars. I hope to see this in the near future.
