Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love the app! It’s much more streamlined than any other animation app I’ve ever used and at an affordable price no less. Unfortunately though I don’t see this app supporting 1,000+ frame projects. The current project that I’m doing has 2,000 and the app crashes pretty much every time I play the animation back. As a newbie to animating, I have felt completely out of my depth trying to learn how to animate on literally every other software/app EXCEPT this one. This app is a miracle and I love it, more than worth the price.

I’ve been using this app for a loooong time. It’s my all time favorite animation app to use. I refer it over any other. It’s easy to use, very simple and very very useful for my animations on YouTube! Look, Flipaclip could never be this good! I appreciate the developers and all they do for this amazing gift of an app!!! Keep up the great work!!!!

I’ve used RoughAnimator for alot of my animations and i’ve got to say, it’s like a better FlipaClip! There’s no problems i have with it so far, you just need to get the hang of it and then you’ll be a natural! Definitely buy this app if you’re looking for a better FlipaClip!

Dreams works like a video editor while rough animator can edit and draw effortlessly the struggle for the most basic tasks like adding image sequences or extending the timeline is non-existent in dreams. You CAN do these tasks in dreams but the work around is so unintuitive its quite frustrating, well done Jacob. The UI looks nicer in dreams but the functionality is terrible.

I love the app I LOVE IT and the new movie but i cant draw anymore. When i try to draw it dose not. I nont know how it just happend.

So much prefer to use software from individual developers and this app from Jacob is superb.

It’s literally the only one that actually works

I’ve been animating for 3 years, at first I couldn’t find one that I really liked, or worked well. But then I decided to try Rough Animator, I was not disappointed, it works wonderfully! It has all the tools you need, and it’s simple and easy to use. However, it does not run large projects well (but that’s tolerable) I think it would be nice if there is a transparent background option - without having to save each individual frame as transparent. I am a huge Rough Animator fan and have been using the software for years. Despite the title, I use RA as my primary animation tool for anything hand drawn and not just for rough animations. It’s incredibly consistent and reliable (especially compared to other animation software for the iPad). I even had a suggestion once and emailed the creator. He responded quickly and implemented the change along with some helpful tips. I’ve created many professional projects using this software and wish more

I love this app, and I’ve used it for animations for a long time. The only issue is that it occasionally freezes, causing some of your progress to be lost (although usually not much). If possible, a feature to edit the opacity of a selected area with the lasso tool would be incredibly helpful.

its only 6$ and you get alot of tools and stuff u dont usally get only issue is wish they put more updates :)

For the most part I love this app. But I think you could add some stuff like a blur tool, more brushes etc. but for real if you are begining animation or a pro, this app is awesome.

Great app, but theres this glitch that crashes the app i ever undo something too quick?? its horrible i keep losing progress please fix this

This app is really nice especially for the price! I use this all the time but there is one problem. It’s really hard to zoom in and out! So if y’all could fix that it would be a perfect 5 star!

Thanks to this app, I became a YouTuber because of it. I wanted to do stuff like this since I was a kid (9.) Now, I’m really happy for it. Good job, RoughAnimator! Keep up!

1. Add more brushes other than the main 3 and online brushes from websites 2. The zoom + needs to be closer because I can’t even draw a face on my character

I’ve been using this for about 2 years and am a beginner animator but have noticed, when I export my animations the colors are distorted is the best word I can use. Royal blues become a light navy etc

I’ve made quite a few animations with this app and I can say I’ve learned quite a few tricks n tips while animating. Only gripe I have is that it seems a bit limited but it’s enough to get a feel for learning keyframes and cycles amongst other things.

This is a very well done app. Simple to use, yet fairly powerful. Recommended for any animator wanting a good scratchpad, or just to learn in. Affordable. Two things I’d like to see, though. A straight line tool that will snap to horizontal, vertical, 30°, 60° and 45° A better crop/resize capability. The one provided is awkward and doesn’t really work. I usually export to Procreate if I need to resize or crop to get around it.

I love animating on this app! I like to make Calvin and Hobbes animations and others cool stuff. I’ve tried a lot of animation apps and they all weren’t exactly what I was looking for. But when I got rough animator, it had all of the features I wanted! Thanks Jacob!💖

I was looking for a straightforward 2D animation program for my son to use on an iPad and was very glad to find this one. I took a chance and purchased it and was able to make a quick animation right of the bat. I am sure he will love it and be able to grow with it. Also, thank you so much for making it a simple, reasonable price and avoiding the subscription model. I can’t tell you how much I despise the push towards subscriptions.

My apple pencil makes drawing slow and laggy. But with my fingers It’s normal.

I really love this app it’s my main app for animating and the fact you keep it updated and going is amazing and I just wanted to let you know I really appreciate it.

I’m a very new animator, and I know I have a lot to learn, but this app has worked perfectly with all my wants and needs. The only thing I would upgrade, is to add more pens, and a smudge tool. But overall great app <3

Great app! Before I had suggested to add the dark mode and you did! Of course a lot of others said the same so I’m not referring to myself specifically. PLUS THE NEW UPDATE IS BEAUTIFUL, OH MY GOSHHHHHHH!! I’d recommend this app to anyone that is uncomfortable using adobe or csp for animation. The app puts the two together in a nice simple way and I love it!!

It’s the best animation app ive used so far. Once you figure it out it’s very easy to use (i think there is a bit of a learning curve but only for ppl who dont have experience with other frame by fram digital animation tools, and you can figure out how to use it if you fiddle around enough) It’s ui isnt near as minimalist as procreate but it isn’t by any means too cluttered. Also im liking the new color scheme for the ui its very easy on the eyes, though it would be nice if you could have optio

Absolute perfection. Amazing animation app and an absolute blast to draw in. Literally 95% of why I have an ipad, and the main reason I bought one in the first place.

I am a animator and I absolutely love this app, every thing is perfect except for one thing, the fill tool, the dreaded thing always makes my animations pixelated or really blurry, I don’t know if this is just me being stupid, but it needs some work.

I really love this app, its beginner friendly, yet advanced at the same time! Many features are offered and i really enjoyed that.. however i do suggest you add keyframes to cycles, just like how keyframes are added to the camera? It should make tweening layers a lot more easier and smoother instead of only having a linear movement. If you want more people to flock to your app, things like keyframes, clipping layers, etc. would be an amazing addition!

If you like 2D animation this is a must buy for iPad. Super affordable, and very easy to learn, allows me to sachet how an animation on the go, then import the line art in TVpaint or Toonboom on computer and continue working. You draw everything by hand, no bones. You can import a video and do rotoscoping, then export the final video. I love it.

Really impressed with this app, particularly with how you can use keyframes. Most animation apps for iOS only let you have frames in a list, one after the other. However, the app is incredibly bright, it needs a dark mode badly.

This app is perfect in every way i need it to be to animate. This app will not let you down if you know how to use it. My only issue showed up today, when i use the paint bucket now, if i press the undo button, it doesnt delete it 50% of the time but goes back a frame instead. This only started happening today, ive been using everyday for about two months now after taking a break and this has never happened before. Please fix this issue

Great app, but some things could be better. Possibly being able to play the animation without opening it fully. Or fixing the audio figure.. (when I focus on a tile it gives me a small cut of the song that needs to be shown. But it is usually a couple seconds too fast or too slow). But other than that I really like this app for making my animations!

I just sent email to another animation app, and saw this one to replace it for now. Opened app, menu, import video. Freezes… restart app. Menu, import video. Freezes. Useless ;D

I usually love this app, but I just spent 5 hours animating, exited out, and then rejoined the app just for almost ALL my progress to be lost. I tested it and it looks like there’s an auto save function, so WHY did this happen??

I love this app but I come back after a year of not using and now I can’t draw anything. The app is updated, buttons work, the layer says there is data on it.. but there is visibly nothing on screen.. Ultimately forcing me to give this feedback and use another app. Please look into a fix, I would love to continue using.

Rough animator has been my program of choice for years, however the recent updates have been corrupting a lot of my recent files losing weeks of work.
