Don’t get me wrong I love this app…but it is often not correct.once I scanned some kind of squash but it kept saying it was a human! This app is great but don’t always believe what seek tells you. Other examples include scanning people and saying that it was Japanese stilt grass.but still all in all seek is a great app and totally recommend getting it.
I have used this app for a couple years now and it work great to put a citizen scientist in the general area of a species. Research still required to get a solid confirmation. Recently, the last 3 months or so, the camera keeps crashing and not being able to work properly. I hope it gets fixed soon. Thank you!
The identification on this app is pretty bad. I think it would help to have a way to specify the Kingdom I am trying to identify before scanning because sometimes I might try to identify a turtle or something but it instead snaps a pic and identifies the plant next to it. Also last night I was trying to identify a camel cricket and it kept identifying it as either a beetle or a squirrel... So it can be really off.
I’ve been using this app for over a year and have over 350 observations it’s almost always accurate if u get a clear photo. I really think this is one of the best apps that you can get for identifying living organisms!!
Please add a bucket list feature so I can find plants and animals till I ‘CATCH THEM ALL!’ Preferably based on area. I’m not sure if it’s possible or not but ima use this wonderful app as a bucket list anyway! I have seen 879 organisms and hope to reach for the stars! This app helps me get off the couch and into nature to advance knowledge of species and learn about the species and their names. Also please give this app more love, I require more challenges and bug fixes (specifically which famil
I sit there for ten minutes and it doesn't identify the fungi I put the camera at.
It identifies things sometimes as other species from a completely different continent. Also the camera finds birds in everything.
I love this app, I just wish it would be a little better at identifying creature and especially trees. I’m not sure how the app is programmed to identify things but it might need some revision. At one point it said a seagull was a snow hair and it wouldn’t change its mind. I have a lot of fun with this app, and I would also like to learn more about the creatures I seek. Such as their diets or behaviors and fun facts about the creatures!
It’s a great app it was working very well and It was the best animal identification app ever!but then when I updated it it would send me home and not letting me use it Developers please fix this I need this app😞
iOs12.5.7 the app is bugging out, at least on my device (description in AppStore says it should work on this phone). I have plenty of storage, tried deleting and redownloading, turning phone off for a while and back on... the app starts to open then immediately crashes.
Downloaded two apps for insect identification. The insect was the Ivory Marked Borer. Not well known to me, but distinctive in its markings. The first ap was ridiculously bad, choosing a dark brown insect with no markings. But, Seek immediately showed the correct identification. So far I'm impressed and grateful.!
This is the first app I’ve ever reviewed, but I had to comment on how impressive this app is. It’s extremely accurate and the more you use it, the more you want to use it. It’s extremely helpful in identifying poisonous plants and insects.
I’m using an iPhone 14 pro max, and I used to have this app on my iPhone 12. I had no issues getting close-up autofocus on my iPhone 12, but now, with my iPhone 14 Pro Max, I have to switch to my macro/wide angle lens to get really close up macro shots (pinch to zoom out to 0.5x). However, I can’t change to my 0.5x in the app, so I can’t get those good closeups of bugs and small things like I’d like to. Please add this feature and it’s a 5-star for me!
I Like Seek But It May Need More Inprovemet
The Seek app makes it fun to discover the names of unknown plants. It’s it always accurate but gets it right most of the time. Almost makes weeding fun!
just needs a better ai. neat badges and stuff, but not much else.
The app crashes whenever I delete an observation but I wasn’t able to find a way to report to developers. I enjoy the app for what it is able to identify.
I love this app. I use it on hikes, or even going to the zoo. Although there are many times where I am standing 5 feet from an insect or animal and it just doesn’t identify what it’s looking at. My only wish is that once you hit the Genus, you can take a photo and “help” the app identify what it’s looking at. I.e you snap a photo, and then you can type in the species name/find it on a list. Because currently, if it can’t identify the species after a few minutes, I just walk away.
It is simple and easy to use but soooooooooo awesome and fun thanks
-Domestic cat -Domestic dog -Domestic guinea pig -European rabbit -Typical sea turtles -Salamanders -Ray-finned fishes -Insects -Placentalia Incredible work
I really like seek but I wish that it has a purpose to scan something like to earn points or stuff like that then you can buy digital stuff but over all that is just a suggestion I would like.
This is my favorite plant identifier. Fun to use when on a walk or hike, or even the zoo! It’s like having a Pokédex in my pocket.
I love this app he gives me a fools representation of my trees of my backyard. I love the fact that I can know about my trees and his history.
Amazing app that gives me something to do whenever I go anywhere outdoors. No complaints.
Great app except when it refuses to identify species. Says a clearer photo is needed when in fact camera is capturing a perfect photo of a leaf or flower and it is impossible to do better!
I’m so great full for this app… I’m definitely going to donate.. help it keep going 🍀 Thank you to all that contribute. even with just taking pictures this app is sprouting, & spreading. I pass this app to All my friends everybody,I try to encourage Everyone!! 🎶🍀 ✖️ 🌘♾️🌚♾️🌒 🦋 🌜♾️🌝♾️🌛 ✖️ 🍀🎶 🐒🐊🐇🍦🦉Marion KmK ¥🐊R L🐇¿ £🍦T £🦉Z 🧚🏻🪹🧚🏻♂️
This app should have labels ranking the species from common to rare, depending on how many people got a picture of it. That would gamify the application and be a lot more enjoyable. Furthermore, this app should have a red alert or warning sign that shows when a photographed species is known to be venomous or poisonous.
This app is often unsure or wrong about the plants it identifies, however! Be sure to get a second and third opinion, especially if you are foraging.
I wouldn’t change a thing other than the fact that I can’t crop the photos I try to use. If I could crop them, it would be five stars because sometimes I have to crop the photos to get a result. Everything else is perfect! 🙂
Very handy and easy to use app with access to ton of information. Must have for all nature enthusiasts.!!!!
I wanted to know what kind of wild grass I had, the app told me it was a turtle. So now I question every plant it identifies.
It’s the best thing to do when you have free time!
This is a fairly good app for the price (free) but it actually doesn’t work as well since the last update. Prior to the update, there were plants it identified that it now can only define the family of. Hopefully, the bugs will get worked out and it will improve.
I love it so much, helps a lot, and the challenges are pretty great
I often download apps, use them a time or two, then forget about them. Not iseek! In fact, I’ve enjoyed it so much, I tell people about it all the time. So easy to use & a fun way to learn about the world around us. I’d love to be able to see more info on the species inside the app, but if in truly interested I usually just paste into my browser. Would be great if you could copy the Latin name from mobile to make that easier.
It’s very fun, the badges make you want to explore. However, the built in camera is low quality and the AI needs a better job of identifying organisms. I encountered a major problem today where I tried to take a picture of a squirrel and it was identified as a mustelid. Overall great app
It is so fun to use the Seek app and get a better appreciation for God’s amazing creation!
Famtastic. Adds a whole new dimension to my hiking and trail running.
It’s like a pokedex for plants. I love it so much. Love learning about plants
Once they get all the bugs worked out, this will be amazing. They update it regularly with new challenges. I just hope they do another round of bug fixes to tackle some performance issues.
Best app ever to identify flowers, birds, insects What I had been waiting for!
Very accurate! So much fun!
..the camera sensing things isn’t great. Ex: tried to take a picture of a bumblebee and all it wanted to identify was the flowers.

It cannot seem to identify a red rose! I’m trying to show it my flower bouquet, but it either identifies the plants as insects or exotic species. Very flawed. Ai isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.
The app worked really well when I first installed it but now every time I take a photo the app is unable to register it. I’ve tried multiple times on the same insect, but it just doesn’t work. I really do love this app and I hope they can fix the issue.
