Move over Signal, Session has won me over. The refinements and upgrades of the past two years take this app from an iffy two star rating to a solid five stars.

Message length & attachment size allowances too small. But understandable. Great product needing scaling & big money donations

When there are more than 10( or maybe 20)GIFs in just one chat or an album open in session. Session get crushed few seconds later.

It doesn’t seem to mesh with with my VPN of choice, I’ve tried to mess with the two but it just refuses to work. A bit annoying to constantly switch it on and off, and it defeats the point a bit. But otherwise a lovely thing to use on its own.

Despite the hiccup about a month ago with an iOS update, this has been pretty wonderful for both personal and business chats. I might heavily suggest when viewing media, such as images or gifs, that we should have the ability to rotate the orientation of our device to look at images that or more widescreen aspect ratio. I wish there was Perfect Forward Secrecy (PFS). I don’t know if it’s possible with the current encryption protocol but would be cool. And I would recommend this app to my friends without any thought. I’m not a technical guy though.

I have been using this message solution for more than a year. This team is dedicated to my privacy and constantly improving with user feedback. Great project and has my support. I continue to get family and friends onto the solution.

For me, when transferring information of a private nature what matters the most is the security of the protocols. Session does, by far away, the best job of ensuring information stays private. The interface is still improving but I’m willing to struggle a bit to know that nobody else is looking at my text and images.

When in the field often I’ll only have the watch on with cellular and the phone won’t be on me, PLEASE make a watch version?! Thanks

1. Option to enter a separate PIN different from device PIN when opening app. 2. Customize auto-delete messages by time. 3. Easy way to donate directly within app. App works mostly well as intended and no major bugs to report.

Hi, this app could be fun once you get used to it. The reason is I’m giving 3 stars it’s fun but having issues now. Some reason my app send/receive takes awhile in my chats. I’ve got my setting on fast but the app having issue anyway to fix it.

Messages won’t send , am not receiving messages , I need to close the app and open it sometimes that works . What is going on ?

The app is buggy in sending messages, sometimes it can take a while. If they can figure this issue out quickly they could compete with apps like Signal. Get it sorted out guys! I saw another review talking about this issue months ago!

I shouldn’t have to look at images only in portrait view on iPhone 14 Pro or any other model as a matter of fact. and there still seems to be a bug with leaving a community if a mobile and desktop app on Mac and iPhone; the window of the community you attempt to leave just comes back after 5 to 10 seconds if you sync up on a couple mobile devices and the desktop app, both at the current version as of this time of writing

Lot of stuff gets filtered for no clear reason. Weird

This app is great if you want privacy, the only problem is that I’ve been having an issue where it says I have pending message requests, but when I click on it the all disappear

Please bring back the option to delete messages after 1-5 minutes after send and read.

In general, this app works really well, but it would benefit from having a separate passcode in the app from the phone passcode. Also, I would like a toggle to disable face ID within the app rather than in the settings of the iPhone. Other than that, pretty darn good!

Whenever I try to forward a media file from one conversation to the another using the share extension on iOS within the Session app, it will send and have a sent receipt but the other person would never actually receive it. Very frustrating. Also, increase file size sharing capacity, please.

When trying to record a video the flash doesn’t turn on that needs to be fixed

A fortress in the digital ether, this app ensures privacy and security together. Encryption's ballet, a clandestine art, a masterpiece of smart. I would like to see an option to add your own worded password to the app to enhance its security. I feel Face ID is a semi secure option, but anyone can get in if they know your phone passcode.

There was a personal pin for the app, not tied to Face ID or phone passcode. Otherwise I feel it isn’t 100% secure if my phone pin is known or seen by others, I feel like it adds another layer of protection that other e2e messengers have. There is also a bit of lag on messages, and I do not get notified for each new message.

I really enjoy using this app as it makes me feel more secure with my conversations, just a couple things i wish were added...1. option to put a passcode on the app 2. not being able to screenshot messages. Other than that this is all around really amazing App!

I use this app across devices with my family. Sessions has always impressed with its reliability no matter the device brand, worth using if you value your privacy.

Don't developers learn from other people's search group owners? What do you talk about alone? There is no search group.

I got this app to replace Wickr and I like that it doesn’t delete messages after 6 days. However I have noticed that I can get a notification but when I open the app, there’s nothing there. I usually have to force close and reopen the app a few times in order for it to show what the other person has sent. Not sure if there is a feature to change this or if it’s just the way the app is.

Like this app for the privacy and convenience however even with the new update I still don’t get notifications I’ve received a message. Only when I have the app open and on my inbox do the new messages load. I do have all notifications set on the app and the device as well. Others I’ve talked to still have this problem as well. This app has more potential if notifications without being on the app would work more consistently.

The app has everything I’m looking for, but it’s annoying that notifications only show when the app is open.

None of my friends and I are getting notifications unless the app is open. Push notifications are turned on on both the device and app. Disappearing messages timer is set to 1 week, but it’s been 2 weeks and the messages are still there. Please fix these issues because otherwise this app is great

Great-privacy-centered app which requires little technical knowledge to set-up. Some acquaintances of mine have been complaining of some notification issues. The app needs to be open in order to get messages with their subsequent notifications. Tried switching some privacy options around and still no luck. The app stopped connecting it shows green but I can’t send or receive messages anymore it seemed to slowly start getting worse over the last few days and now it’s completely unusable

Messages appear to not get sent or received even when my connection on my phone and other apps is fine.
