Great app

Shelly app and devices are so awesome for DIYers wanting to implement a solution with a powerful backend.

Awesome little app

Been using this app about a year now and it’s actually been great. It does everything I need, it’s easy to understand, and the developers are pretty quick to fix bugs after posting on their Facebook support group. Keep up the good work!

Impressive Monitoring

I use this app to keep track of a few Shelly plugs in my home server lab. I tweak my systems to achieve the best power efficiency possible, especially in idle states. This app helps me track the relevant metrics over time. The fee tier is good enough for most people. The premium plan is a decent deal for those who want to get nerdy with advanced tracking, reporting, and Ai features.

It works

Still learning the quirks. These devices are great if you want your own control. They work with or without the cloud. Their API gives you so much control and monitoring ability. Today I setup a temp/ humidity monitor. I paid $10 for it on sale from their website. It has a webpage and can launch a url on high/low temp and high/low humidity. They have tiny controllers that fit behind an outlet and will monitor the current draw. Very cool.

App unresponsive

Finding this app unresponsive to any input today even after re-installing. I assume it is a server side issue but very troubling to lose access to devices.

Got it working

Setup after connecting is a little bit of trial and error, but I got the switch action working how I wanted. Haven't installed it yet, so I can't speak to the quality of performance.

This is the smart home I dreamed of!!!

I’ve been doing home automation since 2000. If a switch, sensor, relay, hub, voice assistant or program exists, I’ve used it. I was always missing the most important things - privacy, full local control, free Cloud if I am away from home, low price, and intelligence on the device. Shelly has this and so much more. The app is super easy and intuitive. I can’t believe how much they let a user do. It’s almost too good to be true, but everything we deserve.

Want to love it, but it has some bugs

Have been using and loving Shelly for three years now but the new app has given me a few headaches. I believe there’s a bug where bulbs don’t recall power ON or OFF state in scenes, despite that box appearing checked in the app. I confirmed this by editing my scenes in the old, unsupported web editor where I found the power ON box was unchecked.

Live this app

This works great! I like having American IOT products, no network shenanigans and clearly written instructions. Devices do exactly what they need to do and are very practical.

Big Improvement over previous version

The app interface is much more intuitive. Editing rooms and devices is much easier. Creating scenes adds functionality to devices.

Some bugs

Some UI bugs: create account button does nothing if you tried to login but you didn’t have an account. Had to force quit. Button to send notification code has some lag updating the UI so I accidentally sent myself 4 verification codes.

Super buggy

It might be the buggiest app I have ever used. Keeps hanging on login. Tried to add a device and went well til it made me add a room which it seemed to do but then it didn’t show for selection. Tried hidden room and that didn’t work. Cancelled and now still can’t add a room. Such a horrible experience. Edit - figured it out - I had region blocking enabled and it needed to talk to Belgium for the room creation and association step. Still upset that there wasn’t any helpful error messaging and it
