9 Positive User Reviews for Ship Finder

Doesn’t track all boats

Can’t find my boat or dozens of other AIS boats in the Caribbean. Like, not a single boat in St Vincent and the Grenadines. It was cheap so I guess I don’t care but still bugs me I spent money on it.

Mostly great

We’re tracking a cargo vessel from the USA to Lisbon but were disappointed to find that tracking doesn’t work until vessels are relatively close to land. Aside from that, the app is great.

Follow cruise ship

I find it easy to locate my cruise ship with Ship Finder.

Love it!

Once in awhile the app doesn’t recognize ships but that’s rare. Love that I can see what ships are coming down the river in front of my campsite.

Curious

Lacking coverage. Why is the Panama Canal showing zero marine traffic? The entirety of the Suez Canal. Both the southern, central and northern portions of which show zero traffic . South Korea and vicinity, no traffic shown. The three locations previously mentioned have some of the highest rates of shipping traffic in the world . Indian Ocean, South China Sea, mid Atlantic, mid Pacific Ocean no traffic shown. Kodiak Island, the illusion chain no traffic shown.

Ship Finder

A MUST HAVE for those who love to ships and boats of all sizes. I use this app to track the big cargo ships in the New York and jersey area for picture taking and drone pictures. The App i would give ten stars !

Needs more than just AIS data. Needs satellite data too.

This app needs satellite data so ships can be tracked across oceans. Also, more voyage and ship data in general. Lastly, the width or “breadth” of a ship is called the *beam*. You should use the proper nautical terms.

Search bar doesn’t really work

Was hoping the search bar worked

Very disappointed

I am sad that this app locates less than 1/4 of the vessels I see from my home. I live near the Carquinez Straight in CA. Do NOT buy this app if you want to identify vessels in the Straight and perhaps other smaller ports, etc.
