I loved this game so much as a teenager. And it holds well 26 years later! This port is flawless. I played on original graphics, because I think it looks better, and way more nostalgic :)

For example, the idea of using a scaler to render graphics at higher resolution is awful. The original graphics were drawn pixel by pixel to be displayed as they were created, the scaler butchers most of them! I am a huge fan of SCUMM VM games. It all started with Monkey Island. Then, I decided to Google SCUMM VM Games and I found a lot. One of them was Simon the Sorcerer. A couple of months later, I found out about remastered editions. I searched a few on my phone and that’s when I found this game. I like the graphics and the way you can make it classic mode. Simon the Sorcerer is one of the best point-and-click adventure games I’ve ever played (and I think I’ve played almost every one on the App Store at the time of this writing). A small portion of the voice acting is a little iffy (my only critique), but the rest is great, and I’m giving it 5 stars overall because it is simply a game done right from start to finish. I have very fond memories of this game and was enjoying playing it again, but today I loaded up the game and it crashed suddenly. When I reopened the game, the save game was lost so I’ve lost all of my progress and have to start all over again. Not a great experience, in my opinion.

Couldn’t believe it when I found this gem on the app store. A perfectly rendered mobile version of my favourite childhood game. Couldnt have hoped for more! Thank you for bringing this to IPhone; worth every penny!

Fun story with great monkey island sense of humor. Freezes in final chapter so you can’t complete.

The original game is great as it always was. Just purchased it to find out that the sound doesn’t work on iPad. Therefore low rating.

Doesn’t save your progress. “Continue” and “load” are greyed out. You can only start a new game even when you save the game.
