Solocator - GPS Field Camera App Reviews

This was my favorite field photo app until just now. It wouldn’t let me switch back to UTM (I have some projects in Lat/Long and some in UTM) unless I bought an “Industry Pack”. I’m pretty annoyed.

At this time you only have to pay 00.99 US one time for unlimited photos that are clearly labeled with the gps coordinates of your location and the orientation of the lens… Pay another 5.00 and get unlimited ability to label each shot with a Job Title and a Description… It’s a crop insurance adjuster’s best friend. No more white boards…

I have used this app for many years and I absolutely still love it. Being able to caption pictures, have the project name and date and time means a lot. I highly recommend!

As an energy code inspector and NGBS verifier I've been relying on this app since 2016 to provide quality documentation, CYA, Recordkeeping, protesting property tax, Identifying tasty mtb single track, mileage tracking. The usefulness is amazing and in a sea of crappy subscription apps this one is a bargain when you include the contractor pack and it still receives meaningful updates after all these years. There's too many positives to snivel over trivial concerns to give the developers anything

I have been using this app for years and it works incredible! There is nothing like this app on the market and also customer service is incredible. They helped me through a few problems I had that were unfortunately operator error and actually no problems with the app. I couldn’t recommend this app more.

Use it to find trail cams in boonies. If I wait till seeing 13’ accuracy, I have little trouble finding them. Use it to document just about everything.

Why use this app if this feature does not work?

I’ve been having some issues with this app the last 2 days. After I take a picture and return to my office the picture is changing and zooming in fully so that you can’t see it anymore. I’ve been having to go and retake the photos. Besides that everything’s been great.

Please add video to this app to make it more amazing.

This is a terrific app for field work. I use for land monitoring reporting for a land trust and it vastly simplifies report writing with the information displayed right on the image file.

When transferring photos from my iPhone to my computer the file extensions are missing for anything taken after the update. Thankfully I was able to use command prompt to batch create .jpg file extensions for them so that I could open them but I hope this gets fixed.

I have used this app for years to take pictures for ecological volunteering and other projects. It is wonderful for documenting conditions in the field with geographical coordinate data overlayed on the image. I use it for downed trees and other environmental conditions to report. The app has been consistently good for all these years and I have never had an issue. Also, all the functions work offline which is excellent. I highly recommend this app!

This app was mentioned in a land surveying forum, and I’m so thankful for it. It has become crucial to our workflow in my surveying company, and we have purchased this app for each of our party chiefs as well as office technicians. The developer is very responsive and I hope the app stays up-to-date in the future. This app is a prime example of why smartphones have become indispensable.
