Best app for chiptune

Good chiptune-oriented synthesizer with a nice interface. It's simple enough to use, with enough depth to be creative. Note to developer: the pitch sweep fader still doesn't connect to the pitch sweep function. However, you can map one of the sliders in the "User" panel to Pitch Sweep. That slider doesn't also animate the Pitch Sweep slider.

Awesome plugin!

It’s not just chip sounds, but you can play around with the filter and modulation tables as well. Custom waveform support would be nice. Unfortunately, glide does not work, and certain sounds can cause crashes.

Great app! But a few problems with Audiobus...

I love the preset synths and basic UI with its own customizability. But when trying to use it on audiobus to connect to any midi device or FL Studio it blanked pretty hard only giving me one tone of sound and consistently hitting that key until I reset the app. I would really hope that this gets fixed soon because I want to use this in my music!

Great synth

This app is very practical but, the problem with returning the settings to default in cubasis3 is not fixed yet. Looking forward for the next update.

Only one concern

I really like this app’s sound, and the interface is really straightforward and easy to read! My only concern is that the polyphony is really limited and a lot of the keys cut off when I’m trying to make a composition. Hopefully this is something that can be improved upon but it’s a great app regardless

Having trouble with one aspect

I bought this app to get that Crystal Castles sound and it’s perfect, but the only issue I have is that it says it’s an audio unit extension, but when I look in garageband it doesn’t appear on the list of audio unit extensions I own. How do I use it in garageband without inter app audio?

Is a 5 star chip tune master

This is amazing on iPhone, it really is the coolest chip mini lab app I got. Now with full support it is so fun, even the little loop recorder is sweet. Cheers and happy chip creations and beyond. Hey, with update I’m having basic midi issue. Just note trigger, and if it helps square synth version 1 midi has always worked better than 2. I mean that with respect and maybe others experience this? Cheers mate

Amazing app! Always up to date!

Such a great app wow! What’s more amazing is the developer, always on top of the updates, and couldn’t be more helpful if there’s an issue. I’d give 10 stars If I could.

Quite good

The interface is a little bit hard to understand at first, but once you get the hang of it you can do some pretty funky stuff

Please

This is an amazing app, but please please please please please fix the glitchy-ness. It doesn’t play nice with AUM; changing the y-axis zoom often makes things go crazy; the buttons don’t scale correctly when resizing, but it sounds super and I want it to be the best it can be!

how does the AU work?

is there a way to actually edit sounds with the program running as a plug-in in garageband? it’s just like a default square wave for me and I can’t find any sort of edit window

Good app, but…

I like the sound, but I can’t modify it at all. I am blind and voiceover isn’t showing any sliders to modify. I can’t modify the sound at all. Btw I use this in GarageBand

2 Negative User Reviews for SquareSynth 2

Poor performance on GarageBand for iOS

On GarageBand, it seems to work well until it crashes. Then all of the sounds you worked hard creating go back to the initial waveform and you have to start over.

Sliders don’t work.

So I was trying to use the device, and as I assigned the wave functions on the synth the sliders would lock up and fail to be adjustable.
