Story Planner for Writers App Reviews

Everything I need to keep my plots organized and keep track of story beats. The layout is streamlined and intuitive. I love how you can upload photos for each character and location; and there are sections to fill in what the character’s motives are, the role they play, etc. I’ve had ideas floating around for a while, and this app helped me to finally hone in and put structure to my stories. I also appreciate it being one-time purchase (and worth every cent!)

Currently I love this app! It is great to organize my story and I LOVE that it tells you what certain things mean when I hit the I button. I feel it would be better if the story could be exported to google docs. This is because it is how I am easily able to share my books. Otherwise, Great app! Would definitely recommend!

Story planner is awesome and definitely a lifesaver but it doesn’t have info for everything and i don’t know what “tags” are. I know they’re like keywords but i don’t know EXACTLY what they include.

I love this app because it will synch between your phone and iPad. It is very easy to use and super easy to export into a pdf when you are ready to share. I love the scene card because you can make chapters and easily rearrange them. High recommend for people who want to have the most organization in their writing.

Can’t believe apps like this (NO subscription) can be this good, a joy, really to use. All of the features I need and haven’t thought about are presented in a beautiful, very easy to navigate manner.

I’ve used this app to create characters for my various stories I’m working on I sort of fell out of vogue with it for a while but was prompted by my own drive to work on my stories again. I’m glad I have this app and works well with Scievener.

I’m a writer of a series and I love this app, it’s really allowed me to organize my thoughts so much better. The main problem I have is that you can’t copy over characters/locations to multiple projects at the same time. It would be such a timesaver for my series! Another thing would be to allow for selecting multiple characters/locations to copy over at once.

Good app for organizing thoughts, ideas, and for developing a strong foundation. I use it to plan as I write, and it helps me see where I need to put more attention. If we are inputting a start and finish time for every scene, it would be great to see an overall timeline that is generated by it. A section under Setting for “the world” would be great, with input spaces for maps, seasons, and distinguishing features.

I cannot get it to sinc up even though I’ve tried numerous times, even deleting the app. The developers are trying to fix this issue, and I fully appreciate that.

Well, it does not.

So, I was looking for a way to plan my novel and I came across this app. I thought it had way more users based off the reviews and bought the app. So I was pretty surprised when I used the app and came back to leave a review only to see very little reviews. The app looks great on my phone and makes it easier for me to keep track of characters and locations. And scenes too! While it’s not an app to write out your entire novel it’s incredibly useful. I purchased the iPhone app as well as an additional app for my Apple laptop. When I type new information in my phone, it syncs to my laptop. But when I type new information in my laptop, it DELETES it, syncing the old information from my phone into the laptop. This makes the app only usable on my phone, but not my laptop.

I adore this little app, but i really wish that it didn’t reset every so often like it randomly does.My work requires i switch from window to window frequently on my iPad, and sometimes i’ll swipe back to the Story Planner only to find my open notes or projects are cleared and reset to the main library once more. It gets really infuriating sometimes when I misplace where i was in my notes or character development, and time is really money for a writer with a huge project underway. Please fix thi

I love to write but my stories always have plot holes or no direction because I fail to properly plan it but this app makes it so easy to plan, edit, keep track, and pick up where you left off. Its also kind of educational. Love it.

I would love to have more help and guides in the app about each tab or feature. That would help a lot. I know some sections have information like what is a plot, what is a character, etc. But it would be more helpful to have some videos or just written guides on how each tab works like the plot and the scenes, etc. How in the end of the day it would become a book for example or a story in an orderly manner. I can give 5 stars if the app can be improved.

This app is pretty good. I can write locations and characters which is concisely descriptive too (not too much, not too little). This app has a simple and a nice look to it. You could even customize the project settings, unlike the story plotter app. The notes and statistics is also a nice addition, and I'm surprised there's no recent reviews to this app. (The only reason this isn't 5 star is because I only used the app for like 2 days)

Bugs in the body functions make this program seem wonderful, but needs an overhaul to truly be the best it can be. One annoying problem I have encounter so far is in the character section. Only the name and type of character works properly. Any other fill in section stays with whatever input is typed last making it impossible to write different Tags etc. for each character. If an app is worth creating and putting on the market it should be worth doing correctly. Please fix!
