45 Positive User Reviews for StoryGraph: Reading Tracker
I love the app. Looks great, works well. There only thing I would suggest is giving a 24 hour grace period in recording what you read got the day. I fell asleep while reading so when I entered when I woke up after midnight it reset my streak. The great people at StoryGraph did my streak back close to where I was so I'll give them a high-five for that.
This is the best reading tracker and book organization app. Period. I’ve tried them all. I read between 120 to 200 books per year. There is no better. My data is always there. The stats and simple an helpful. The app simply works. It does what it’s supposed to do. And I am very grateful for the work that the developers put in to keep it great. Thank you.
This app has finally motivated me to read all my books. I love setting goals and seeing my progress.
Large library of titles with a focus on reading goals and data. Allow’s half stars in a simple review process.
been using this app since 2020. i really like how it is so far, however, i would like a feature where it allows me to like other people reviews on books.
I absolutely love this app. I cannot stand good reads. This app lets you input books that aren’t previously there, and specify exact pages, what type of copy( physical, digital, audio) which I love! I’ve been using the app for over 2 years now and i’m a faithful to it!!!
I’ve recently started reading significantly more than I had been in recent years, and this app has been essential to keeping me organized and on track. It’s also helped motivate me to read new genres and titles; I love browsing through other readers’ past reviews!
I like it but a few extra features would be nice. Like I wish there was a “recently viewed” list so I did’t have to type in the same title again that I just looked up two minutes ago, or yesterday for that matter. Also wish the app front page loaded faster. It always hangs for a frew seconds.
This is by far the best tracking app on the market. It’s so easy to find different additions of books, the platform is easy to use, and the best thing by far, the stats. The only thing I wish StoryGraph could improve in would be the user interface. I feel like it looks a little outdated compared to other tracking apps.
I love this app. I wish it had a book calendar, I have to use a second app for that. I wish it was easier to put in the days you read the book. The good points are the reviews are in depth. I love how you can add trigger words. The stats are cool. I like being app to add tags to books so others can find what they are looking for. The best part is the recommendation based on what you read.
Really handy app to track your reading. The only drawback is that it logs you out, but it’s frequent and annoying enough for me to dock two stars instead of just shrugging it off like with most apps when this happens. I prefer seeing the data from my reading, which Goodreads doesn’t have, but at least Goodreads keeps users logged in.
The best way to find books similar to what I’ve already read. I’ve been reading avidly for over three decades now and have always had to gamble on if I’d like a new book. So happy to have found this app.
I love this app so much! I've almost completely switched from GR and am thrilled to support this developer. I wish I would have thought it of it. 😭 I don't love the "character driven" vs "plot driven" questions when I'm creating a review, but it's also easy to skip. That said, I do feel a bit odd for leaving so much blank. The developers are clearly very conscientious about listening to feedback and they're great about adding features that readers want to see. It's nice to see an app like thi
I absolutely love this app because it’s very specific in organizing the books you’ve read - page numbers, moods, pace, genre, etc. My only complaint is that it’s constantly logging me out. It’s a minor issue that doesn't affect my usage of the app it’s just that I’m simply lazy and don’t want to log in every few days/hours. Otherwise this app eats every time.

I like seeing my graphs grow as I read more! The new barcode feature has already been nice and the reviews and content warnings are part of what led me to the app originally. I’ve also found that any tickets are quickly and efficiently responded to! I can tell there’s a lot of care rolled into this app.
Ok for keeping track of your TBR list but not great for browsing. I wish the search feature had better functionalities, like allowing results to be organized in different ways. If I search for an author, I want to be able to see their list of books in chronological order, not whatever order the algorithm decides on. Also the survey to customize your recommendations doesn’t seem to do much. I noted some categories I don’t want to see and I keep seeing them in my recommendations. I tried deleting
I am new to reading apps in general so I don’t have much to compare to. I am enjoying the buddy read feature. It allows my friends and I to read together but not spoil it when a friend is behind. My only criticism so far is that there does not seem to be a push notification. I hate that I have to actively check the app for any updated comments or reactions from my friends. I think if the developer added that feature it would put the app over the top IMO!
My goal this year was to read more and track the books I read. I have really enjoyed storygraph to help with this. It tells me how far I am through a book, how many books I’ve read so far, it even breaks the books into charts like genre, mood, pace. I am a financial analyst for work, so tracking everything in charts and graphs is right up my allet.
Started using this in late 2020, and have stayed a loyal user. Yes, I started using Goodreads this year out of curiosity, but I only truly started using it to follow my favorite authors. Otherwise, Storygraph is the superior platform, and is black-owned!
I’ve recently started trying to use StoryGraph more than good-reads & everything was fine but in the past few weeks StoryGraph has been signing me out. I will use the app throughout the day & then I’ll go to use it again only to discover I’ve been signed out. I don’t know why it keeps signing me out & it is a small thing but it really is annoying & I wish it was stop b/c I was really enjoying using StoryGraph.
This is my favorite book tracking app! The stats are fun (and a bit addictive), it is easy to add books, and the StoryGraph reading challenges do a great job at expanding my reading interests. I am so amazed that this is run by a small team! They have gone above and beyond.
I’ve been using this app for about a month after deciding it was time to leave goodreads. I love how all the ways I can track my reading but I wish I could comment on my friends’ reading updates!
It won’t let me add books
Was trying to figure out what I could replace in the budget with this app, and realized I was still subscribed to Kindle Unlimited, even though I never use it. Figured what a better way to support the Amazon alternative than by cancelling that subscription for StoryGraph!
Not sure if I need anything
Give me book previews and I’ll stop talking to the other book apps, baby.
I love this app SO much! I love the stats and how it tracks so many different categories. I especially love how the developers are always working to improve things and create new features that I didn’t even know I wanted! I love this app so much that I have decided to stop tracking my reading on my own spreadsheet and just use StoryGraph! Thank you so much from the bottom of this reader’s heart!
This is the best reading tracker!
Love the service and the website but the app needs work, right now it feels like a 2010 iPhone app. The lack of updates in 5 months brings me concern
I love the app however there are a few issues i face and they all have to do with the rating system. The app keeps changing my ratings. For example I'll rate a book a 3/5 and the app will later change it to a 3.5/5. I just wish it would stop doing this also i wish there was an option to rate books out of 10. Also when inputting my rating I'd like if i could rate on a .5 scale such as 5.5 or 7.5. Something I'd like to see in the future is being able to see other peoples lists that they compi
This app going down would be my own personal burning of the Library of Alexandria… I would be utterly inconsolable. The interface is great, and their team responds to suggestions so fast! (I haven’t had any issues, but I’m sure they would be super helpful there as well!!) I love it so much, I’ve recommended it to all of my friends.

StoryGraph is missing important data regarding the demographics of the authors. It is important to me to be try to read perspectives and hear voices different from my own. I think it’s important that we are confronted with data about who we are reading, if we choose to look. Then, if we want, we can strive to be better, and seek out different voices.
This app is so easy to use, and it’s so fun to get to look at your stats and compare with your friends! Plus you can support not-Amazon while doing it. I wholeheartedly recommend
i really love this app. the charts are so cool. i only wish i could change the edition of the book i read without altering the data (switch the edition from print to audio or from german to english). it doesn’t matter so much but then my stats would look a little prettier and more accurate
I love the idea of this app. I just always forget to add books here. I’m so used to goodreads automatically tracking (I read on a kindle exclusively) that using this manually is kind of a pain.
I honestly love how this app tracks the pages read in the graph form! But the time clock is off… I’m reading pages today (February 28th) and the app is counting my pages read for March 1st. It’s been doing this since I’ve had the app in January and it’s frustrating because my daily page count isn’t accurate. Might seem silly but if I’m taking the time to input the pages I’m reading I feel like they should be counting the right pages for the right days.
Wanted a non-amazon alternative to a certain reading app, and this exactly what I’ve always wanted! It has everything you’d expect and more. The book recommendations in particular are better than any other app I’ve tried, and I love that the review system can be as simple or complex as you want. It doesn’t feel super user-friendly at first, but you come to learn that programs with a lot of features will often have to sacrifice simplicity, and you get used to it very quickly. I love it!
I switched to StoryGraph from Goodreads a year ago and I’ve never looked back! The design is simple and intuitive. There’s DATA FOR DAYS! So many graphs! I love it so much. I recommend it to anyone who’ll listen.
1 Negative User Reviews for StoryGraph: Reading Tracker
If you are looking for a book somewhat recent don't expect to find it here. If you would like to look up a particular author and review all their publications, this app will not help you. It probably has other virtues but it generally did not help me due to missing content.
