This app seems like it has a lot of utility, but little focus. It seems like an interesting way to meet people and converse, but it's very freeform and kind of feels like a dating site. I haven't gotten too much value out of the conversations I have here. There is no structure as to who speaks what language without a significant amount of that negotiation between the two people it feels like one person benefits, more than the other.

I love this app, overall a great way to meet people from around the globe and to also learn and practice languages. I’m experiencing right now something like a bug with the app.. when I’m on a specific chat, and the other person sends me messages I cannot see them until right after I re-enter the conversation. I don’t know to fix that but it’s inconvenient, because of that I cannot follow along with the conversation. I hope you could see if there’s something wrong and if I can be fixed. Thank yo

Tandem allows me to talk, text and send audio messages to people fluent in the languages I’m learning. There are easy correction tools available and almoat everyone here are serious about learning while having fun. I can’t recommend it enough!

It’s a very useful app for learning new language

After 300 days of using Tandem they're warning to kick me off the platform. It's supposed to be a language learning app, but they greatly restrict what you can and cannot say. No Religion and politics may be good for dinner parties, but for those wanting to learn a language and utilize it in real life... This stinks.

Y’all. I’ve downloaded so many apps, in hopes that it would be the perfect companion to my solo dolo studies. If you self-study, you already know how hard that is. Especially in terms of motivation. The conversations I’ve had on Tandem have always encouraged me to make more time for practice. And I am seeing improvement. We’ve been in for two years. I’m asking for a pro subscription for Christmas.

Tandem is a great app for learning another language and meeting other people. There is a large user base and lots of people to talk to from all over the world to your local city. I would highly recommend it!

This helped me to polish up on a language that I used to be fluent in, but had gotten rusty. That was so successful, that I’ve decided to learn a 3rd language. Extremely helpful for my learning style, which is “just jump in and do it” rather than a lot of drills and such. Real people are more helpful (for me). I recommend it to anyone who will listen to me.

Was looking for a good language exchange app. Not as easy as you’d think. But this one is very effective.

I love this app most ppl on it are willing to teach you there language

Besides taking lessons, this app has been the most useful tool for helping me to learn Russian. I highly recommend it.

I have been using Clubhouse for 19 months for helping English learners, and I just learned about Tandem and was VERY impressed because everyone on Tandem is there to learn and they are serious about it compared to the other.

Get to practice Spanish a lot wether typing or over the phone. Love it.

The concept of Tandem is brilliant and well executed. Within a few minutes of being registered, I was paired with many interesting and kind individuals who I had the pleasure to exchange knowledge with. Get this app if you want to learn a language! It is absolutely great!

This app is great, I have been using it for about a year and a half to two years now. I have made good friends around the world and the “party” option is a fantastic addition to the the app. I love how I can choose any language I want and join the party and listen to other native speakers or talk to them if I choose without pressure. If you want to immerse yourself in other languages by listening to native speakers or talking to them, I highly recommend this app ☺️

I love the community and option to make friends and communicate. Party chat was the best implementation.

Excellent App for learning English

My friend recommended this app to me a few days ago and I am beyond happy with it. Its really straight forward and effective. Also I feel like the community on here are almost all here for the right reasons, making it a ton different than any regular “social network” experience ive had. Wholly recommend 10/10

I used this app frequently but decided to take a break and deleted my account. I tried to recreate it, but apprently there are too many american users... It says registration may take a week but its been months. **If you are american find another app this one is unavailable

Speaking to others is the proven best way to learn a language, and what better way than to work with people of common interests! Tandem feels like a social network of learners who all are here to have a good time and study their new languages.

Dears Tandem Team, I’m a tandem user since more than 5 years, but I forgot my old account, now while creating my new account i have waited for 8 days and so far no respond from your to accept my request! I tried to create a new account several times to no avail!! Why??

I got stuck on the waiting screen forever don't know why

I’ve used this app for years and was happy with but now since the Feb 29 update there are way too many ads and the time limit in the parties makes it basically unusable for a non-Pro user. I also had a lot of glitches where I wouldn’t have used the app at all that day and would immediately get the popup about the time limit, even though that was the first time that day in the parties.

There are hundreds of bugs logged, some with hundreds of upvotes and logged over a year ago, but the iOS roadmap is essentially empty. The top-voted bug is that entire chats just disappear and can never be recovered so you lost contact with people who really enjoy talking with. There seem to be frequent and recent releases, but the version history just shows the same stupid message and fails to describe which bugs were fixed. Adding an extra star because it has so much potential, if only some
