16 Positive User Reviews for Textastic Code Editor
Handy app
I like using this app to preview offline websites
Delivers what is promises
I have used Textastic for years now. It provides a portable and uncluttered tool to edit Markdown and html. I have not been disappointed with it. The developer fixes bugs, maintains it, and provides updates.
The best! Code editor of choice ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Easy edit, search/change, preview, file manager, and FTP. (Easy to setup host connections.) Many options for appearance/behavior. Easy “theme” builder. Fast and stable. Great support. Regular updates. Unexpected luxury: generates HTML from text. A little tidying and I’m good. Can’t imagine better.
Delivers what it promises
I have been using Textastic for many, many years, and had no problems with it. The interface is clean and straightforward. The developer continues to develop and update it.
Please update this app for macOS
Please please please update this app for macOS. Or at least make it available for m1/m2 MacBooks.

suggesting
fill in code on line styles in html please. for example: style="padding:0;Margin:0;padding-top:20px;"
Great privacy policy
The privacy policy is clearly worded and respects your information:
“Textastic is designed to keep your information private. It does this by collecting as little information and using as few third party services as possible.”
Great app!
Works great! The only thing missing is multi-cursor support. I often use this app when prototyping and mapping out new ideas before i bring them into my VSCode projects. I do recommend using a different browser than the default. The console isn’t very useful for working with large objects. The Inspector browser or something similar works much better. Thanks for making this app!
Best editor for iPadOS
Whether you’re editing a text file, html, JavaScript, or css, this app does it cleanly and easily. Connectivity tools allow you to keep your files updated locally or on the server. You can spend more, but you won’t find a better tool. I manage multiple websites from the comfort of my recliner without breaking a sweat.
Amazing!
This app is a lifesaver! I don’t own a laptop but sometimes I want to study coding on the go. This app made it possible with my iPad or my iPhone!
A Must for Developers
This app is indispensable for any developer who keeps an iPad nearby. I pair this with another app, Working Copy, for working with git repositories. None of us like to code when we're not in the office, but we know it happens. This dynamic duo (Textastic + Working Copy) has allowed me to quickly address issues so I could go back to enjoying my night or weekend.
Highly recommended.
Code editor of choice ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
(Easy enough to write your own “theme”). On my laptop I use BBEdit and FileZilla; but I seldom whip out the laptop. On my iPad and IPhone it’s Textastic. Easy edit and FTP. No search across files in folders but I can live with that. Handy finger float for pinpoint editing, code complete if you want it (I don’t). Good preview (plus view in browser). Learn to refresh browser’s base to refresh—can do. Easy ro delete/rename files on FTP target folders.
Excellent app
I particularly like the way it handles external files on iCloud, something other editors can find very awkward, for whatever reason. Very solid and user-friendly.
Limited
Great app, but very limited when it comes to integration with certain external services via Files (Box, DropBox, OneDrive, etc). Have switched to Runestone which has no such issues.
I’m using wrong but
Love the app. Maybe I’m just a dummy but I have a hard time intuitively finding the ssh.
App’s outstanding though 👍👍👏
