18 Positive User Reviews for Time Guru Metronome

Simple and Effective

This app is very simple and does exactly what you need it to do, which is to fix your internal sense of time. Practicing with a metronome is essential, but it becomes a crutch when the click never shuts off. Using this allows you to internalize your sense of time by automatically shutting off the sound of the click for a set duration. You can use this solo, or with fellow musicians. One of my favorite drills as a bassist is to loop a groove with a drummer and then work together with this app t

Simply the best

The best, most versatile metronome I’ve ever used. Been using it since 2013 and see no reason to try any other. Thank you!

simple and clean

okay the design is simple but what you can achieve with can be complex and endlessly useful. throw every other metronome app away

No delete function

I had heard about Time Guru from a friend, and I was very excited to use it. But now it is useless since I am unable to delete the tempos which I had set. I have double clicked on the beats, but it doesn’t do anything. Now it is a total waste.

It’s fun!

I’m still a beginner, but this app is fun to use with its “random” feature! I would like to be able to see the time while using the app though.

Your brain needs this app’s mute mode

I came here after seeing Molly Gebrian’s YouTube video about fMRI research on brain activity when 1) following a rhythm and 2) sustaining a rhythm oneself. Check it out to see why the mute mode of this app might help you be a better musician. “What musicians can learn about practicing from current brain research - part 3 - metronome use”

Innovative Metronome

I used to have to program my old Boss Dr. Beat to mix rhythms. Not with time guru! Easy to customize and combine rhythms with this app’s novel approach. You slap your forehead and think: ‘why didn’t someone think of this before?’.

Yes! This is the best metronome app.

I really appreciate being able to save each song time setting individually. I also like being able to choose the sound so I can hear it depending on what instrument I am playing. There’s so much I like about this app!

Has potential

There seems to be a lot of flexibility with the meter adjustments, but the controls aren’t at all intuitive. Got into some weird crazy loop where I couldn’t even figure out how to get back to 4/4 time with the accident on beat one.

The best!!

I just use this metronome for a click track, but love the random feature! The updates make it even better!

Incredible for developing internal rhythm

The two standout features are the way you can mute randomly or in patterns you create. And the ease of creating odd meters. Super helpful.

Fantastic Metronome App

Thank you for updating the metronome to gradually increase/decrease tempo over time. A very welcome addition to an already fantastic app.

Wow

Good app made for iphone 5

Great metronome

Great metronome with important features. Only complaint is that on iPhone while the metronome is running, the phone doesn’t recognize it as active and the screen turns off. I can’t see it throughout a practice run and have to re-unlock my phone to look at it again.

Great app but could be more user friendly

This app solves issues no other one does that I’m aware of so it is indispensable in that regard and for that I will give it 5 stars but I hope the developers will provide more of a help section or supply the app with some optional basic preset profiles to start someone off. If you already are someone that tinkers with things without manuals, you’ll find your way around quickly. Mainly writing this for those a bit less tech savvy out there. Intuitiveness of app can be improved but app is definit

Time Guru

I’ve use another metronome apps. They all seemed to have flaws and get buried in my other apps to be long forgotten. Time guru is basic or as complex as you can make it. Does the job for me! Thanks

In app Volume Control

Great app, used it since undergrad. An in app volume slider would be appreciated.

Great Metronome App!!

I have had this for a few years now and it’s my favorite metronome app and I use it often. Excellent!
