25 Positive User Reviews for Toot! for Mastodon
I moved to the Fediverse the day of Elmo’s official takeover and have tried several apps, including those with all the hype. IMO, Toot! Is Number One in features, accessibility, bug-free functionality, and ease of use. 12,000 posts later, I unreservedly recommend this app (and the Fediverse). 😊
This is the best app for Mastodon I’ve found so far. Best of all is that it doesn’t collect any data. If only more developers would do the same!
The developer said it’s delightful to use. And they’re not lying. It’s absolutely the best out there, and every time I use it, I feel it’s so smooth and it makes me want to use it! The design and UX are definitely beautiful and natural. The animation is great too. One thing I’d add is to have a “media” tab when looking at someone’s page.
This has been my go-to app for years. It’s the only iOS app that doesn’t act like a Twitter app, and I have always loved the unique visual touches like the lines connecting replies to make it easy to follow conversations It would be nice if the following were fixed: -drop filtered posts entirely, since that’s how I have it set in browser -filter for words in alt text, which browser does but Toot! doesn’t -show animated userpics / emojos instead of freezing them as stills -incorporate the ab
It’s a great mastodon app but I would like to have ability to change different timeline (home, local, federated etc.) from top easily and also it’d be nice to have an option to see count of reblogs and favorites.
The on problem is it shows a note of posts removed by filter when my filter says not to show anything at all.
Good app but not seeing the red circle with notifications numbers. Setting I am Missing?
Love the UI/UX and the different themes. Adding the ability to toggle boosts on/off would makes this a 5-star app.
I’ve been using Mastodon and other ActivityPub sites for years and the Toot! app really is one of the best clients out there. Especially if you have more than one account, switching between them is a snap. Plus it works great with other software besides Mastodon like Pleroma/Akkoma and Misskey that have compatible APIs. It’s great, well worth paying for.
Please add the ability to follow a hashtag. Other apps have that. Then this would be awesome
I’ve tried several and this is the best. However, I oh so wish I could make the font larger! It strains my eyes.
This app is so nice to use and it has only been getting better. The way it handles threading and replies is very nice. It’s handling of multiple accounts is very good (and actually reliable unlike some other apps I’ve tried) The dev is also very much on it with updates. My only gripe is that I can’t install it on my M1 Mac, but I can understand that having yet another platform to potentially deal with bug reports about could be overwhelming. It is my opinion that the one star reviews are all
Probably the biggest annoyance being that the issue link is broken - looks like the author migrated off GitHub (good move!) but forgot to update the support link in the app itself. Beyond that: * search function is hidden in a menu when it should be directly accessible * app notifications don’t work * large alt texts on images obscure the image itself, and there’s no way that I’ve found to hide them (either temporarily or permanently)
I’m enjoying the app. I already have an existing Mastodon account, after some confusion about the “add” button, I was finally able to find my instance (server) and log in. It loads toots faster and I like that I can easily find the various Mastodon timelines. Toot also has some nice options where you can change the color theme, and the notification sounds. The developer reached out when I had a problem, is responsive, and cares.
I wish that this app will support the system display settings, e.g. font settings. Otherwise, it is one of the best out there.
Hello I love your app and its design, however, I have one suggestion. Being visually impaired, I would like the ability to change the font size. Additionally, it would be nice if the text size followed the accessibility settings in relation to size and boldness. Other than that. I think this app is great! Just wish it was easier for me to read.
I like the Toot! App but please let me turn off the animations. The motion is a sensory thing that makes it hard for me to use the app. I turn on Reduce Motion on all my devices and accounts, but Toot! doesn’t seem to be respecting it. 😕
Thank you for making this!
Very stable for me. Love: the wheel to quickly access different servers and feeds; ability to add servers without logging in and interact with posts using logged-in accounts; ability to pin lists and hashtags.
I wish more apps were this elegant and fun to use. Very good job!
I think that toot! is the better iPad-based mastodon app out there, The only thing it doesn’t have is nesting the left field. IWant more space for the tootsI’m looking at and I feel all that blank space on the left side is too much. Maybe just having the icons visible unless I open the menus board would be cool?
Been using it since last June and its become my go to for mobile mastodon. If there is one thing I would love to see to would be support for viewing gif avatars! Otherwise this app is wonderful, and I love the hidden “relax” options so much, they’re very charming.
great app with small text that i wish could get adjusted upwards as a user preference
Great looks and UI interaction, it was immediately intuitive without too many options. This is a polished mastodon experience. Please give us some more and darker icons in the for men package!
I love this app. I use it all the time since I’ve removed Twitter from my life. It’s great because I only get notifications when they’re relevant to me!
