12 Positive User Reviews for Touch the Sound

Nice app

This app has nice pictures and good sounds. I was not sure what my 2.5 yr old would think of it, but was amazed by his listening skills, he knew many more sounds than I expected him to know. He also enjoyed playing it with me. the mouse sound though, does not sound mouse like at all!!

Minor adjustments needed

the stimuli are sometimes too difficult, even for adults. (ie, two different types of birds or motorcycles). Would be nice to customize the field and have auto scoring as others have mentioned.

Wrong Sound For The Monkeys!

I was watching my 2 year old brother play this app and noticed there was a monkey noise. I glanced over and saw the noise it matched was not only not a monkey, but an ape, and it was the wrong sound. The ape depicted, the gibbon, does not make a sound like "ooh ooh ah ah" but "whoop whoop whoop." Other than that mistake, fantastic app!

Excellent app!!!

Very useful for developing auditory perception and attention!!!

Lovely

This is a lovely app that I use when beginning my 'sounds' playgroups in preschools. It has them focused and perceptive to sounds. I wish however, that you could turn off the pictures, and have them try to discover what made the sound.

Great app!

My granddaughter LOVES this app and she's not even two years old. She is learning so many sounds. She sticks with it too, continuing on to the next screen, the next screen, etc

Wonderful!

Love all alligator apps! They are so valuable for my speech therapy program!!!!

Awesome

My little one just loves this app! He will just not stop learning on this.

Almost perfect

This app would be perfect if it would say the name of the things making the sound after clicking on the correct picture.

Needs better layout

Needs longer sound bytes. And a slight border between pictures.

Great for teaching kids with autism

An awesome, rich resource for systematically assessing receptive language concepts for children with autism. I’m a behavior analyst and I find that children on the spectrum are more likely to respond to instructions presented on the iPad. It would be really cool if the app could log the child’s responses during a session and email it to me afterward, but it’s still excellent. I also love it that you can add your own pictures/sounds.

Clever!

What a wonderful app! I love the ability that it gives you to customize it and to even add your own concepts! Some of the sounds are not long enough so I just disabled them. The selection of sounds is super! I use this with my preschoolers and it is a big hit with them.
