The only thing that would make this app better would be if it allowed you to set the psalm or hymn to any matching meter tune.
The feature to enlarge type doesn’t seem to work on the music & words view. So small. Like the ability to hear the tune played by piano.
There’s no option to keep the screen on all the time unless you change the settings for your entire device. It doesn’t work with my Donner page turn pedal either! Two small but very significant problems for me that make it easier to just scan straight from the hymnal to PDF. Only upside is having a hymnal with me wherever I am, otherwise I wish I would’ve saved my $10.
I’ve used the app for years and love it. Upon updating my iPad to v26, I can no longer get the hymns fullscreen. It always keep the hymns list on the left side. I’d love it if that could be fixed!
Great on-the-go, take-anywhere version of the Psalter. The tune recordings are helpful and it has the sheet music included as well. Like it. Would definitely recommend it.
I am also having the recent problem of hymns not displaying full screen on my iPad, coinciding with update to iOS 26. I hope this will soon be fixed. Same issue also present with creeds etc. Our family collectively uses this app nightly in our family worship and it is wonderful but less so just lately.
I praise God for the developers of this app-having such a accessible platform has enabled me to incorporate Psalm singing into my daily devotions, which has been so fruitful. I was wondering if the developers had considered adding an organ option in addition to the piano for the tunes?
I would also like the option of isolating the musical parts. With the similarity for the way the app operates, I suspect the that this and Book Of Psalms For Worship come from the same app development shop. This feature exits in the Book Of Psalms For Worship and can probably be added without much problem.
This app seemed, and has proven, all too necessary to have. One can search for a hymn or psalm reading via title or keyword, though it does not accommodate misspellings, and on each hymn’s page itself, adjust the font size, see and use the notes / sheet music, and also play the hymn’s accompanying melody / parts arrangement. What a wonderful, useful (especially now that so many churches are not using physical hymnals because of coronavirus ???) and joy-giving tool.
We are a non-musical family so this app is just what we needed! It’s so wonderfully convenient to not have to find another source for the music, all the tunes are just a click away. The feature to repeat the music for as many verses as needed to sing the whole psalm or hymn is very helpful. The only drawback is that there about 3 seconds of silence as you start and end each tune which makes for an awkward 6 second pause between verses. If that could be fixed in a future update this app would be
What a great app! Very useful for church musicians, pastors and congregation members. I’ve never encountered a hymn source like this, online or in an app, where there is such a high level of pianistic skill, nuance, shaping and singable tempi. The layout is excellent and it is well organized. The informative written introductions are also included.
Add Option to play individual voice parts. Also add option to speed up or slow down the midi.
I am so very thankful for this Psalter. The translations are fresh and literal, while still poetic and singable. I have been using this for private and family devotions the last year or so, and our church got the license to sing the psalms in public worship. It has been an incredible blessing. I finally bought the app too and I’m so pleased with it. It’s way to find songs, easy to toggle between text-only to the sheet music. Plus as a bonus, the app will play a midi version of the accompanimen
I’ve found this app very helpful and well done overall. The piano recordings are clear. The app layout is simple but attractive, resembling the hardback Psalter Hymnal. As a pastor, this app is most helpful with selecting music for the service each week. The search function works well and includes tunes and other details. The app is just as useful for individual and family devotions. I recommend it highly.
It’s finally here! Great effort by a fine group of people with outstanding results!
Would like to see the ability to create my own playlists
Amazing app - please shorten music pauses between verses!
I love the Psalter/Hymnal and use the app daily. In my opinion there is just one key flaw, the ability to change the speed of the tune. Some of the tunes feel very slow, we find ourselves as a family waiting long in between words that you can’t really sing the song because it feels so drawn out. By comparison, the app for the “Book of Psalms for Worship”, that seems to be the code base for this app has a simple feature to adjust the speed of the tune. Please add this feature it would make the
Absolutely fantastic app - makes psalm and hymn singing much easier! Great design and very intuitive to use.
I held off from getting this app and I’m glad I finally got around to making the purchase. As a musician this saves me a lot of time from opening tabs on the internet and searching through YouTube for referencing tunes. The fact that you can play the audio for every song to practice singing or verify a tune is worth it’s weight in gold. Thanks to everyone who created this app. The viewing options are also a great feature. Excellent work!
Great supplement, good to have, especially since no one can get physical copies at the moment. Would recommend.
This app is wonderful. Our Church plant uses it for worship on Sunday morning as we don’t have a pianist. It’s served as a great aid for us. However, the only suggestion I could make is to add a prelude to the tunes as an introduction to the song and to reduce the length between the end of one verse on repeat and the start of the second verse you’d sing.
I LOVE this app! I can’t recommend it enough! My only complaint/request (and it’s a major one) is that the standard Trinity Hymnal be added. It would be so helpful to have both, as many churches use both. Thank you to the design team for making such a wonderful, user-friendly app!
