TVO - Remote for TiVo App Reviews

I was looking to cut-the-cord and use TiVo as an Over-the-Air DVR. I have a Lifetime License and thought it would be Smart to pick up some cheap Bolt and Mini units that were super-low priced because they did not have a remote. This TiVo Remote app immediately searched my network and found two models of TiVo and a Mini. Because the Mini was not listed in the app description as a supported device I tested it first and the app and I worked perfectly. The app shows the TiVo devices by IP Address

If you’re the rare individual that still uses a TiVo DVR, then you should know this app still works well as of 10/8/25. I’ve been using it on Apple Watch to control my Roamio OTA. It does seem to be slightly slow, at least via Apple Watch. It can take up to 2 seconds for the TiVo to react after pressing a button, but it always responds so be patient. Also it does NOT seem to be able to control a TiVo mini. Those are the only two issues I noticed.

It is great to be able to pause-skip-rewind TiVo from the other room! I wish I could add an icon as a complication to the watch face to be able to access it quicker. That will add the fifth star!

Very helpful, particularly when my wife is screaming at me from other room that TV is having an issue. I open app and am able to assist without running into other room. She yells at Me all the time. This helps me when I want to hide from her. Lol

MyTiVo slide remote has an alphanumeric keyboard... It seems It would be so easy for the developer to have a keyboard built into the app. For this reason I am rating it only 3 stars.

It worked right away. Worth the cost if your regular remote is not working.

I have a TiVo Bolt . The latest version hangs whenever I watch a recorded show. I’ve reinstalled the app, restarted my TiVo box and router but no help . The previous version of the app worked fine.

This app works fine for everything except the keyboard function - it doesn’t want to enter more than one letter at a time

Disappointed that I can not switch between box’s, when manually adding cable box’s via IP.

Downloaded the app and set it up within a few minutes. The app found my TiVo with the scan and the remote works great! The app does not control tv volume but I didn’t think it would so I use the Samsung app for the volume controls.

Bought this and I’m happy so far. I find it easier to use this than searching for my real remote in the couch cushion. Would be cool if I could use Siri though

The only issue I have with the remote is that there is no power or volume buttons. Otherwise, this app is nearly perfect. Hopefully soon a power and volume button is added.

Works great, but I would have skipped if I realized it didn’t control volume or even mute

Wish this app included control for tv on/off and volume/ mute controls.

Please note you have to have a remote to set the TiVo to work with this app. You have been warned. If you have a remote it might work but I could not get that far.

I bought this to use with the Mini in the bedroom, but it doesn’t 😢. Is there something I need to do to make it access the Mini and not the main box?

How do I contact support for this App? It works fine but I don’t see a power on/off or volume button. How can it be a replacement remote if these are missing? I will be happy to change my review/rating if I am missing something . Please respond. Thank you !
