Typography Insight for iPhone App Reviews

I'm looking forward to updates in the app. The only thing I'm disappointed in is that it doesn't include any information on ligatures which I was hoping the app would cover but its a totally absent element.

Many other apps show you different apps, but this helps you really UNDERSTAND the difference between similar fonts like Garamond, Caslon, Times New Roman, and Baskerville. These fonts look similar to the uninitiated, but they really have a different appearance on the page.

Some good basics to typography... I wish it's go a bit more in depth with it... Also would be cool if I could compare fonts I have installed on my phone and iPad

I love type and this app is amazing

I love various features and simple sections to learn different aspects of typography. It feels like the playground for the designers. Hope we can get kerning feature on iPhone version too!

I've been working with desktop publishing type for pushing 30 years now, and this app gave me an insight into how to compare typefaces systematically that I would never have thought otherwise. It's great!

I was not expecting this app to be so elegant and interesting.

I’m a web/ graphic designer and have had an affinity for fonts and type for a while. Needless to say when I saw this app, I pretty much impulse bought almost immediately. This app has a lot of basic fact and tools, but it’s nothing I didn’t already know from my high school graphic design class when we spent like a day on fonts. I’d love to see more in depth info on type, maybe some history, how each letter plays into one another. How is each letter designed and why does it take that form? I don

This app works as described and the developer chooses not to collect any personal data for themselves or their affiliates. After reading the single paragraph, I was so happy to read their policy I nearly cried. Previously, I've agreed to fork over my data to Adobe, so that's on me.

The app lacks depth. Among other things, it needs more fonts. The user interface is not intuitive. It's clunky and can be confusing. Navigating around the app forces portrait to landscape to portrait, etc. It forces constant rotation of your phone just to use the app with no user choice to do so. I wouldn't recommend paying for this app in its current state, but I remain hopeful that the developers will continue improving the app. It definitely has potential.

Honestly there’s a lot leas than I expected from this impulse buy. Maybe they’ll add to it in the future. Not much here that you cant learn in about 30 seconds of googling.

I was super excited about this app, but a few issues I’m encountering: - when I select fonts from system or typekit in either comparison on display modes the wrong fonts are coming up - when displaying a font (in my case objektiv from typekit), the descenders were cut off. Cool idea, just buggy for me
